I have made it a point to drink mostly locally brewed beer. In fact, most of my go to beer is local. I also try to buy beer that may not be brewed locally but is brewed in my state (Virginia). For some reason, the Governor has not thanked me!

My goals for this year are mostly related to brewing. I have a few equipment upgrades I want to make. I want to enter more contests, so I'm getting feedback beyond family and friends. Start brewing double batches. Also would like to step outside my comfort zone of hoppy beers and try a stout or barleywine. Maybe even try some bourbon aging.

I'd also like to visit some of the breweries in the area. I havent been to the new Jack's Abby or Canton Trillium. I'd also like to make a trip to either VT or Portland, ME.

I want to brew more this year. I only did 2 batches last year.

Also, visit more local breweries. I have an embarrassment of riches in Central Iowa and haven't taken advantage of hardly any of them.

How is this possible? Does your basement produce beer?

My resolution is to do more homebrewing. Got two batches under my belt, both from kits. I have a copy of 'How to Brew' but have only read a little. I have a 22 month old - who has time to read?

I want to find a way to try some of the beers I've been coveting - Julius, Second Fiddle, anything Cantillon, Konkey Dong, Gandhi Bot, Focal, Peche n' Brett. 2015 was kind and I was able to knock alot of beers off my bucket list, but I hope to hit some of these in 2016. Gonna take alot of fortunate trading.

Also, I'd like to hit up more breweries in 2016 and the Great Taste of the Midwest again this year.

I wish it were that easy. I have as much of a buying problem as I have a drinking problem.

Believe it or not my goal is to drink LESS beer, stop taking home that cheap 6 pack with a couple bombers. A couple of quality bombers is more then enough beer.

My 2016 beer goal: To ease back into making my own beer. Kinda gave up/stopped back in the late 90's.

My beer goal is really more of a sub-goal of my more general goal of traveling more. I'd like to visit new cities, new states, new regions; trying beers from these new places is simply the icing on the cake.

I think I need to drink more locals beers. Chicagoland has a lot of great breweries, sometimes I wonder why I'm chasing beers all over the country.

No-- you definitely need to keep chasing beers all over the country and bring them back to Chicago.

Visit more Breweries (Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine...California in 2 years)
    Add to my Cellar
Grab beers from Tree House, Alchemist, Maine Beer Company, Trillium, Toppling Goliath, Russian River (Pliny)
Beer Trading at least 15 trades this year - would like to do more than that, but I'm not a millionaire LOL

Drink local, I think it helps a lot. If it sucks, don't go back. If it's solid, pitch a tent until it sucks. My two cents
