I'll be driving through from Stevens pass to mukilteo to take the ferry and wondering if there is a grocery store that has a good selection of brews on the way through. I saw a Trader Joe's not to far off, never been to one, what do ya think?

I would actually recommend you stop in Snohomish and check out Snohomish Beer & Wine (They are actually re-opening this weekend under the name Trails End Taphouse and Restaurant). The Haggen in Snoho has a pretty decent selection of Belgian ales and they also carry a pretty typical assortment of local 22oz. bombers. The Fred Meyer on Bickford (right off Highway 2) also has an alright selection and they let you mix a sixer, which is the one thing I really like about them because they actually carry a pretty good selection of six packs as opposed to the bombers.

I would reccomend Norms Market in Lake Stevens. It's not to far off of Highway 2. Good selection of bottles and 52 beers on tap for growler fills.

I was thinking about recommending Norm's but I didn't know if a little 10-15 minute trip out of the way would put him off...I love Norm's!

Or Special Brews in Lynwood. Good beer and better people.

+1 Special Brews. Norms at Lake Stevens is good but pricey.

Note to self: Don't move to Everett.

    There are worse places.

There are also much much better places too though.

OP: Special Brews is right at the junction of HWY 99 and I 405/ Mukilteo Speedway which takes you right down to the ferry. Go there. You won't find a better bottle shop North of Seattle. Not open Sundays though so I hope you're traveling on another day.

Oh, I'm sure. I was just struck by the fact that OP asked for a good place to buy beer in Everett and pretty much every response directed him elsewhere.

+1 to Special Brews, great shop.

I was looking for more of a one stop shop to pick up other grocery items, but Norms and Special Brews looks pretty tempting for more than just one stop. Thanks for the input guys, its good to know about these hidden beer spots.

There's a Safeway almost next to special brews.

Agree with Dan here. I think it's on the corner of California and Grand in Everett. I have found some serious gems here before.

    Cheers, Hollis
