I will pick up the bad barrels and take them home for further examination next time instead of you dumping them..

I had a couple cans from a friends batch of cans this weekend. Thought they were fantastic, seems to be slight variation in cans.

I've had a few cans over the past week and all have been fantastic.

I'm still disagreeing with those who say this tastes like Head High normally does.

I drink it on tap weekly, it's one of those beers I'm confident that I could pick out of a blind tasting. In fact, it's my most checked in beer on untappd.

The cans have a flat taste that does not match what comes out of taps. I've had cans from multiple 4 packs at this point. No difference.

I cracked open a can Sunday night and it was drinking a whole lot better than the first 4 pack I had which is promising. So maybe it was green, maybe it was a bad 4pk, I'm not sure but there are good cans out there, and hopefully it's the majority of the cans.

Sorry but I am not done with this thread. I just finished my final four pack. Drank a full case, mostly by myself-probably drank 75% of it. I fairly regularly have it at a bar near work and also have a had it at home on my kegerator on multiple occasions and of course also have it in growlers on a regular basis. The beer in these cans does not taste even remotely like head high. I have had Carton 077xx in cans and on tap at bars and at home and in growlers and tastes comparabl. Going forward I will only be buying 4 packs of head high until something changes

Yeah I was pretty lit up Saturday. Didn't even remember my prior post.

My point was that I bought a whole case of head high. I drink head high on tap all the time (including multiple times at multiple places last week) and the cans don't taste the same--even the ones that didn't taste bad just weren't great. That doesn't happen with 077xx in the can vs. on tap. I will buy head high cans on the next run, but won't be spending the bank on a full case. I will stick to a 4 pack until I feel it is worked out.

I bought a case of HH on opening day. I have slowy drank 90% of it myself, with one can remaining right now. I have Toppers, Sips, 2nd Fiddles, Shape O Hops, 077xx, IDIPA, 14th Star Tribs and more. I have an educated palate. I must be pretty lucky because my ENTIRE case of HH has tasted the same throughout it's lifespan. In fact, I'd say it is the better tasting out of the aforementioned. I've done direct comparisons. Also compared canned batch to fresh growler from Super Buy Rite Rt 22. No problems here. Also compared to fresh tap at the Stirling Hotel, again no issues.

Point is not to discredit the previous posts, rather to show that it did work correctly for some of the time.

The only problem was one case per person limit and when the heck are ya'll gonna can again!

Anyone have any scuttlebutt on when the next run may be? Hoping to have some cans for my wedding in March.

Its been a long time since cans came out. I really thought once we saw the first run they would be a regular thing. Would love any insight also?

Overheard at he brewery that they are thinking of going the bottling route as they try to QC any issues with the prior canning run. So might return in bottles instead of cans.

You may want to postpone the wedding just to be safe.
I'd welcome it in either format but would be surprised given the # of empty HH cans they have sitting in the brewery that they won't be using them.

Very interesting, wonder what they would do with those 150,000 cans. Find it hard to believe that after just 1 run they would abandon canning.

This can vs bottle for some of their beers intrigues and confuses me. I understand both. But the big confusion is why go into canning when you buy your own bottling line? They could have easily stuck with bottling in smaller formats, either 12 oz, 16.9 or 25.

As for all those cans, I would think they could find someone to buy them off their hands. Cans are still good and probably could put a can sleeve over them. Not probably the ideal, practical or economical solution, but one that works.

FYI...I had only one can from the first release. Seemed OK to me. I understand the initial issues they may have had, but didn't think it was such a huge one for the amount they released to stop from canning again.

I think the bottling line they have might not work for the smaller format bottles but that is honestly just my opinion I have nothing to base that on.

Not only do they have 150K cans, they put two years into getting to this point with cans. All that time and money into designing cans to just abandon it after one run because some people reported off flavors. I dont know, seems off to me. Mike is a smart guys and knows what hes doing, I think they can figure out the issues if there was one.

I would think Mike would get advice from Iron Heart on their first canning run and what could have affected some of the cans. Also, talking to other breweries that can (Other Half, Carton, Rushing Duck) could give their advice on the process or how to alter brewing slightly to meet the format.

Maybe we are all wrong and Iron Heart just can't fit them into their schedule. Boy, I wish I created that business a few years ago, mobile canning.

I didn't get any cans from the first run so I'm clamoring for them.
