They are about to take a big $ and reputation hit...bourbon county was always one of those beers you knew would be good and not infected

So much for prevailing thought that BC hadn't declined since In Bev took over.

I hear ya...I was trying to stand up for InBev because they have done some good things such as more variants and expanding production...but I can't stand behind a slip in quality

Agreed - hence I would think they would be on this pronto - I doubt very much the people in charge over there are naive enough to think this is going away if they bury their heads in the sand. I am expecting as soon as they can tell us the cause, they will make an announcement and tell us how they are making it right.

Your crazy to think they will do anything more than say, sorry we are putting some changes in place to better catch these in the future.

Or they could pastuerize all the bottles. And at that point- may as well not bother keeping them around for the sake of change really.

My guess is they will offer money back or allow a trade in for vintage bottles (for example bring in 2 barleywine and get a vanilla or cherry rye)

I can assure you this won't happen, so far fetched I'm assuming your being sarcastic

Yeah I am, I agree that they probably won't give money back or exchange the beer, and even if they do you will have to go to Chicago

Ha ha. Money back will never happen. Trades for vintage bottles even more unlikely. This is no health risk. You'll be lucky to get a "oops sorry..its crazy...blah blah".,

Just drank a bottle with time stamp of 1800 and it was fantastic. Again, all of my bottles have been stored at 34 degrees since Black Friday. I think that's helped.

    On a serious note
I had a not so good experience with GI before... They sent me a 2010 vanilla and a cherry rye to make it right along with a personal phone call... So I am gonna give them the benefit of the doubt for now until we hear more

    No they aren't
AB/InBev wouldn't feel a monetary hit if they refunded every single bottle of Bourbon County sold this year. Bud Light alone accounts for more than 2 Billion dollars in sales a year. Bourbon County can't be more than a couple of million dollars. Bourbon County sales are a comparative mite on a flea on a AB/InBev.

Ugh, smell wasn't terrible, but had very sour or tart taste to it. One of my favorite beers and I just about chugged it because I didn't have the cajones to dump it down the drain.

Brewers with far less resources and shallower pockets have done things to compensate customers for bad/infected bottles. It seems premature to declare it ridiculous that they won't do anything more than just a sorry-not-sorry hand wave at the issue.

After all, if ABInBev is trying to destroy Craft Beer like so many seem to think, pissing a bunch of craft consumers off regarding the one product that has more or less weathered the anti-InBev backlash seems like a terrible strategic move. They have to know that it's the product that gives them the most craft "cred" out of any brand they own.

And to @SammyJaxxxx's point, doing a refund won't even really make a dent in their bottom line. Their low-cost strategy largely applies to areas in which the consumer won't notice an impact. We are well past that point with this potential fiasco. I have a feeling they'll do something to make it right and milk the shit out of the goodwill and marketing it brings.

Also when central waters had infected bottles of their coffee stout Peruvian morning, they allowed people to bring them in and exchange them for bottles of 15

I'm just speaking to bourbon county... A loss of a million is still a loss of a million.... Bet executives don't look away at that

I just don't think the bugs would wait that long. Six months in a barrel should be more than enough time when presented all those unfermented sugars. It could have been introduced when samples were taken closer to bottling too but if the infection came from the barrels themselves then you'd really have to question their QC.

Regardless of where it came from, you have to question their QC. Particularly since they were aware that there were infection issues and had to dump large quantities due to infection.
