Don't forget they also did Prospect Park one day too.

Oh I didn't realize that -- I'm lucky enough to be local to them. I remember them telling me about how long a day it was getting downtown from up here though...

The NYC drop is such a cool and overly generous gesture by them, but I can't wait to rent a car and visit the new barn once its fully up and running. The pics have looked great so far.

Also looks like they've updated the website for 2016. Slick look and has a shop page (though only populated by a taster glass for now).

Just entered to join The Swarm. Looking forward to having some good stuff by them. Amour and KarnL were both amazing.

Bartlett and Tree Beer with about a year on them are beyond awesome.

I actually didn't try Bartlett until it was pretty far along, and loved it (and I'm not into pears). And last night I actually had a year-plus-old Royal Jelly, and it was as good as (but different from) fresh -- I'm shocked that RJ doesn't seem to be as appreciated as the others mentioned above.

And IIRC, E&E plan on releasing Bartlett and Tree Beer again this year!!

I did the Swarm yesterday, but didn't receive any sort of confirmation email. Also, will we pay for the memberships upon receiving said confirmation email? Just making sure I didn't miss anything while signing up.

Cant quote on my phone. But I signed up for The Swarm a few days ago and got confirmation last night. They must reply in batches as they can process. Membership fee will be taken care of when the store is all set up.

I got an e-mail confirmation on Monday and they charged my credit card for the membership fee the next day I think.

I assume you had to provide your CC info after you received the confirmation e-mail? There was no option to put it in for me during the signup process.

Yes -- I think I had an earlier version of the application form (it was a .pdf that I e-mailed back to them), and that one asked for CC info right up front.

I've been thinking about signing up for one of the two, but am slightly confused. If I join the hive does that mean I MUST buy 6 bottles each month, or am I just guaranteed that many if I want? At $90 a month + the $50 membership fee I don't know if I could work that into my budget, but all the extras do sound great.

I think you are guaranteeing that you will buy 6 bottles a month.

You're paying $50 for the membership fee -- think of that as giving you the Teku and first crack at beers (and I think guaranteeing you at least one of everything they make). Then you are basically paying $90 a month for 6 bottles, or $15 a bottle.

Not sure if that helped, but "you are paying for 6 bottles, you might as well buy them" didn't sound right. I may be misinterpreting your question though.

I'm confused, I signed up for Swarm (no bottle commitment) earlier this week and only got the Welcome email yesterday. Maybe they're doing it in shifts?

What is the price per bottle if you join the swarm? Still $15 a bottle or does it vary depending on the beer?

Based on Emily's description of the Hive and the Swarm, it appears that bottle prices will vary depending on the particular beer. So one of the benefits of the Hive is that you pay $15 per bottle for all beers released in the six month period.
