I worked around FedEx/UPS guys when I worked in airport luggage for about 2 years. My roommate also worked in a UPS distribution plant in the area for a couple years in college.

Putting "fragile" on your package immediately tells most of them something akin to "you don't know what the fuck you're doing, assholes." They're unionized and not really afraid of getting fired in most cases... so your package will be kicked/run over/tossed around much moreso.

Don't really recommend it. :sunglasses: Just make sure it's padded.

I ship through work so UPS is cheaper, plus dealing with Fedex on the business side was always a hassle.

Same here. We've been using UPS for 10+ years at our work with little to no issues. We average 50 outbound packages a day and I can only recall 3 or 4 that were damaged in transit.

FedEx has hounded us for our business repeatedly. Every time they make a sales call I ask them to send out a sales rep to talk to us. Hasn't happened yet...I find that a bit odd considering that our UPS rep drops in unannounced once or twice a month just to say "hey".

i've found that price has more to do with box size than weight. i've shipped two 22oz beers for the same cost as 2 6pks.

I've sent about 25 boxes, all but two were FedEx. I've had only one problem, and it was with FedEx. They absolutely decimated a box I sent.

Everyone is commenting on FedEx delivering on Saturday, but remember, they don't deliver on Mondays.

Plus being a coffee roaster, no one thinks twice of liquid in the box.

That makes it even stranger - the 4lb box was 1/4 the size!

Over 150 trades and BIFs, I've never had an issue with FedEx. They are cheaper, though only slightly. But in my experience, they are always the faster service. UPS is always a day later. In fact, have a trade right now with a BA in Cali. We both shipped Monday, I shipped FedEx, he shipped UPS. My shipped box will land tomorrow while his will be here Friday. I have no issue waiting an extra day for any box, but personally, I feel that the less time a parcel company has my box, the less chance of something going wrong. So, FedEx always for me.

Edit: For what its worth, at work we use both UPS and FedEx. Though 2/3's of our shipments go FedEx, 2/3's of damaged packages are from UPS shipments.

Yeah I have to ship Monday with UPS to reach my partners in the great lakes area by Friday. They can wait till Tuesday with fedEx.

I didn't read the posts above, but Fedex is cheaper for me and their delivery schedule is better/ faster. I have had many, many damaged boxes delivered to me from UPS. BUT, I did just have a box go missing(prob stolen) w Fedex. First time for that.

I use Fedex as it is cheaper and faster. I have shipped over 150 boxes with them and have not experienced any problems yet.

He's not lying. Everything was safe and sound though

I prefer Fedex by far. Cheaper and the last 2 boxes coming my way via UPS got postponed to Monday when Friday dropoffs were scheduled
