Any word on the next canning?

Finally canning Wangbar Double IPA brewed with Oats and crammed/jammed with El Dorado, Calypso, & Madarina Bavaria Hops. #juicebomb.
We will also be debuting Skittley Bittley Bop Coffee Saison, Fruity Funky Saison Yeast meets Fruity Funky Coffee from Bali roasted locally by Backroom Coffee Roasters.
1 case limit on Wangbar DIPA $12.99/4pk
No limit on Skittley Bittley Bop. $7.99/500ml

Anyone else look at that weather forecast for tomorrow? Don't think I'm gonna be able to make it.. projected 40mph wind gusts along with rain/snow mix doesn't sound like fun to drive an hour each way in.

If there is a bunch of Wangbar leftover will they keep some in house, or distribute it all?

 

Um, yeah. Not going. That weather looks awful!

I made the last minute decision not to make the drive down. Maybe next time.

 

Well i just got returned to Newark from Hoof. I would say the weather didn't suck as I got there fine but the dirt road on the other side where every1 was turning around to park is where I was stuck, thx to the 2 guys that helped pushed me out! I got there at like 11:35-40ish to maybe 30-40 ahead still plenty of Wangbar when I got to the front. I can't speak on how it is tasting despite being on tap as I opted for the Everybody Wants Some! Equinox and I see why as usual that was craziness, juicy goodness there!

 

Unfortunately I think I was one of the first people stuck in the mud when in the parking lot... Because there was a light dusting of snow, I didn't see the area nearest the road was not graveled.... When I turned to go into a parking spot, my front tires just dropped into the mud. I thought with snow tires at least that it would have helped, but they packed tight with mud and there was no going anywhere... Thanks to our friend who works at Hoof, he came by with a truck and chains to pull me out in a few minutes. I then and made sure to park on the gravel and they coned off that area... Sadly right after I parked, someone else made the same mistake and got stuck! I didn't see how many other people (if any) happened after that since we were in line. But so thankful the hoof guys were prepared to help out if need be!

Anyway... After all that excitement...

Another amazing day at Hoof as always! We were able to snag a barrel inside this time around after we got our beers... Wangabr is excellent! The coffee saison I am not too crazy for, but perhaps it will age well and hit its prime later on. Stayed until about 5:30 before we headed out.

Next canning according to Trevor and the other brewer (not sure of his name) is the black IPA next Sunday (Cultrider). They already had the can stickers on the merch boxes inside by the cash register. They said it's a black version of their dragon saddle, 11.5% ABV. Two weeks after that is Roller Blabe.

 

We better start lining up NOW for that one! Can't wait for Cultrider too!

 

Already ahead of you there! I never left hoof... Just going to work remotely for the week and be 1st in line come Sunday. No problem.

 

Heading back to the area for a visit in Feb. Couldn't find much info on there site. What are their hours? Are cans usually available at the brewery or are you better off grabbing some at a store?

 

They are only open 12-5 on Sundays (if it's a release day). Follow them on FB for more up to date details on when/what they are canning. It's easiest to go there, share some bottles, get your beer and meet new friends!

 

By the time you come back in February their new brewpub in Italian Village should be open for business, so you'll at least be able to get draft pours of their beer. Canning releases will still only be taking place at the brewery in Marengo, and the brewery isn't open unless there's a canning. It seems right now there's a canning every 1-2 Sundays

Surprised to see such a light turnout at hoof today... Probably half that of the previous one. There was plenty of Cultrider to go around, which IMO was just awesome. The first black IPA I could honestly say I have enjoyed. So well done and one of my favorite Hoof releases. That 11.5% ABV was scary hidden... The coffee variant even more so!

 

Did they sellout?

 

No way... There was a completely full palette (100 cases) inside the fridge and maybe a 1/4 pallet still outside where they typically sit when they sell. Most likely at Blabe in 2 weeks they will also have more of this to sell unless they are shipping all the extra to stores and their other location.

The crowd was very light... The line was done within the first hour I believe.
