Oh yeah, man! I grabbed it last minute from Total Wine this afternoon. The price was totally right, and I never saw this beer from Victory (or any bomber from Victory) in Syracuse, so I had to give it a shot. The Belgian strain is very much there, and it still has that earthiness of a standard saison. Not as spicy as say, Hennepin or Ground Break, but I'm enjoying the hell of out this one.

With you on that. Ground Break is not a very well-done saison in my opinion though, and Hennepin is great but in a very intense way. Like that's about as intense as the malt, spice, or ABV should ever really get in a saison and still intend on maintaining balance. Helios though is a nice, balanced saison. And the ABV sneaks up on you.

Edit: Groundbreak is just fine, and enjoyable. It's just not one to write home about, I think.

The night is young and I'm already done. Had some Outer Darkness which wasn't blowing my socks off or anything. I enjoyed my Old Raspy more. Seems like they were trying to do too much with that Darkness or something.

Just got back from a Bell's Tap Takeover. Had a glass of Harry Magill's Spiced Stout and the pièce de résistance Black Note. The keg kicked in 9 minutes.

Having my first Aprihop. This is really smooth - it's going to be hard to stop myself from finishing off the 4 pack.

Had a homebrewed DIPA while cooking dinner, which is probably about another week or so away from hitting its stride in the bottle. Next was a Bell's Double Cream Stout, which I very much enjoyed, and I'm now just working my way into a Bruery Filmishmish.

Drake's Hopocalypse. Didn't have a chilled bottle so decided on a room temp one, which is about 60 degrees for me. Definitely a good experience.
