Dipping into the cellar again today with Imperial black raz bu. Probably shouldn't have sat on this one but luckily it is drinking great.

It's funny how things work. The first time I had this beer, I was fairly unimpressed (though I should note, it was a 2013 vintage and about 2 years old at that time). Worked my way through a 4pk of the 2015 batch and by the last one I loved it. I'd have to say this is one of my favorite beers now. Simply brilliant. I grabbed another 4pk recently in case it dries up and I don't see until ~November. Cheers!

This one wasn't bad but I wish it were stronger and more focused.

Starts off pouring very blonde but that develops into a beautiful hazy, juicy light iced tea color (ambers, honeys, reds) and a head that doesn't quit. 2 fingers, popcorn colored, and slow to recede leaving lots of evidence of its existence behind.

A bit of caramel sweetness on the nose, with amber malts, a touch of honey. Faint to nose, otherwise pretty decent.

Taste overall, like the nose, is muted. It starts off with cereal grains, followed by a small dose of piny hop, and some brown bread crust, finally fading with some baked sugar sweetness.

Feel is creamy but still light enough to enjoy thoroughly. A semi dry feel permeates the whole profile, and it dries politely.

While I like this Amber and I feel it's a solid craft, I wish the flavors and aromas were louder and I could do with a bit more character overall.

Should've waited until Thursday to do a Thursday Throwdown (though it's still not out of the realm of possibilities). To see if I really liked my last beer, had to try this beer again:

It's just starting to warm, but at this stage, I'm currently liking the Tröegs a bit better. However, the Celebrator is starting to open up. You guys might have to wait to Thursday to find out for sure.

(Don't worry, I'll remind you as you'll forget about it two posts down from here)

Wasn't going to tonight but I had the opportunity to get a beer I've been wanting to try....
SingleCut Heavy Boots of Lead imperial stout and it's definitely a yowza. Smells like Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream. Smacks you with fudge. The taste? Holy shit. Baker's chocolate at the front and then straight up chocolate chip on the finish. This is awesome. Vicious feel too, thick as fuck. Cheers.

Chocolate Bock, and it's been the best out of the Holiday pack yet.

Pours a light walnut color from the bottle and then turns dark chocolate brown (surprise?) into the glass. It's actually darker and thicker than their Holiday Porter. The head is almond colored and 2 fingers.

Aroma of melted chocolate, roast malts, and whipped cream. Could be stronger, but nothing off here.

Taste is roasted, dark, flavorful, and rich. Chocolate takes a back seat, and then very faintly a bit of fish oil on the finish, but it's so faint and so quick that it doesn't destroy the beer. Nevertheless, it's still a flaw.

Feel is highly carbonated, but that's okay because it's a Bock. A roasty feel, chocolatey, velvety, and a dry parch on the finish.

Chocolate Bock has been the best offering I've tried from the Holiday Pack so far. Whether that's saying much I'm not sure, but I'd have THIS one again.
