I was also told it's no longer imported. If you can find some, pleeeze notify me. It's an excellent Baltic Porter and I'd love to have some more.

In the meantime, your friend might like Zywiec Porter or Big Boss Porter. Both made in Poland, both quite good.

 

Remembered too late to edit my original post: it's Black Boss Porter, not Big Boss.

 

Check the NW side and maybe the Niles Binny's. You have to think off the map. If I come across any on my way up there sometime soon, I'll let you know.

 

I remember seeing a dark Okocim beer somewhere (don't know if that's the one you're looking for). Let me verify after work today...
But yeah, I'd imagine you gotta hit up small liquor stores in the Polish hoods on the NW side, like around Belmont Av/Milwaukee Av, Belmont/Central, etc.

 

Famous Liquors in Lombard always had some - it's worth a call I guess. I agree with 5thOhio - Black Boss and Zywiec Porter are good too.

 

Big boss is awesome and reasonably priced to boot.

 

Check genes sausage and grocery in lincoln square. They have a pretty good selection of imports.
