I'm curious to see people's thoughts on a few different things

Over the years, which releases have been the best out of the gate?

Which ones have aged the best?

And lastly, how long is too long to age these beers?

It seems like people are not fans of the new Coffee sour and barleywine sour.

I had Backyard Rye a year after it came out. I thought it was perfect. Had it again a year later and still loved it. Never had it fresh though.

Cherry Rye is my least favorite variant I've tried. I had that fresh.

Regal Rye is my next least favorite, which I had a few days after I got it. Hoping it improves with age.

Of course, these are both still incredibly solid beers, just not as great by Bourbon County standards.

A bar near me had bombers of Bramble Rye back in '12 for $50. I wasn't geeking out as much about beer back then, otherwise I would've pulled the trigger.

Cruise through the reviews for each and see what people are saying (reviewers usually always add the vintage that they are drinking). This way you'll be able to answer your own questions and formulate your own interpretations.

Backyard has gotten better with age. The fruity jammy taste has really integrated well with the brew. Cherry Rye was aight out the gate, and a year ago it was still aight, no realy thoughts on that one. Bramble only tried once years back and it was as good as backyard has become, although haven't had it recently, so I dont know if its going down hill yet.

EDIT: there is no actual fruit in regal, its just that tart cherry tonez your finding in the 2015 lineup

I've had Backyard Rye multiple times over the past year (gotta love living near Chicago) and it has aged extremely well and there is still a ton of fruit left. Cherry Rye was great two years in but haven't had it since. Bramble Rye fresh was on point, but not sure about now. I think Regal needs a little time. Very sweet.

Honestly I think all of the fruited variants age really well. I would think at 3-4 years that fruit would have to start fading though.

Original Vanilla was amazing right out of the gate. This year's regular is the best out of the gate of any I have tried, going back to 2008.

Haven't been a huge fan of the fruited ones so I gave opinions on these.

Haven't had Regal yet, but Backyard was incredible at ~4 months. Cherry Rye I had at about a year old and it wasn't anything that memorable. Backyard would be the one that I would love to have again.

Had Cherry Rye 3 years ago and it was amazing. Had it one year ago and it wasn't as good.

    Regal should improve with age.

Bramble 1 year ago and was excellent, however it trades a bit high.

I had the Regal Rye last Saturday, and didn't taste any fruit, just basically BCBS with some sort of sweet spice added. Am I missing something?

Backyard fresh and with over a year were both delicious.

Cherry Rye was not enjoyable last year. Cherry cough syrup.

Bramble was great last year, very similar to Backyard. Not worth trading for unless your self worth is dependant on your ability to acquire fermented sugar water, which it is.

Regal was good but I prefer Backyard/Bramble, though I'd like to do a side by side.
