Which is exactly what he offered, an opinion.

Most bombers these days are over $10 and Pliny at $6 or $7 is a steal. It's one helluva DIPA. I actually bought it from mail order more than once it's that good.

Cascade, Eclipse, Ballast Point, most Mikkeller, Trinity, Crux
(Sadly) a lot of the Avery BA stuff, and Crooked Stave.

For $7 I don't feel Pliny is overpriced.

Ballast Point definitely. Especially when I look one door down and see a Dirtwolf four pack for $7.99

I understand the thought behind the thread but this so subjective that it can never be answered. First of all, everyone has different taste, so there is no clear answer . More importantly, everyone has a different level of discretionary income, so while $10 for a beer might be crazy to some, to others it is not big deal.

Also the locate dictates pricing. Something that cost $10 here might be $15 in Cali and so forth.

Isn't it one of the cheapest RIS you can buy? $12 a 4 pack. Not a whole lot of company in the canned RIS catagory that are rated 94+. It's like a bomber for $5.50-$6.00.

Like I said, above you. Location dictates a lot of pricing. Maybe $12 for you but in Maryland it gets as high as $18 for a 4pk, with tax its almost $20.

BA Alesmiths..11 bucks for the regular 750s around here (and Speedway is definitely worth it) but throw it a bourbon barrel and all of a sudden it's a 40 dollar bottle?? Yeah I'll pass

Sculpin is one of my favorite beers in the world. But I will not buy it off the shelf at current prices. It has been a year since my last purchase and there are just too many other great options that are much less expensive.

Anything barrel aged by Three Floyds, as it's pretty much $40 a bottle. Not that I'm against paying the price, but with Three Floyds it's either very, very good..or it takes like Mr. Clean. It's just not worth the gamble to me anymore.

Sculpin. I really like the grapefruit and the regular IPAs, but 14 bucks a six pack is absurd. Especially when there's stuff just as good for close to half that.

and yes, I agree with Maine Beer Co. I love their beers and will occasionally buy some if I see something that does get out here all that much (Lunch) but the markup at a bar is insane..now you're talking $9-10 for a 13 ounce pour

    $5-6 here in NorCal.
And while I'm not sucking the proverbial RR teet (Pliny's good, but not amazing), I found that Heady wasn't worthy of the hype either. I wouldn't trade for it again, that's for sure.

To your point, BA Raspy is only a 500ml bottle versus 750ml for Narwal and Bigfoot. And BA Raspy still rings in a $2-3 more than Narwhal or Bigfoot...and that's still NorCal prices.

BasterdinABasket, I totally agree on the Speedway and the Numbskull too. I mean they are wonderful beers but like you said not at 40 dollars. I would rather just buy another half a case of Central Waters bourbon barrel stout.
