This time not piggie-backing another post, I'd say 50/50 Eclipse.
I'd consider it again at $20 but that's still a stretch.
CR and BT are pricey, but they're 750ml versus 22oz. They're also, IMHO, hands down much better beers.

Hey, the "Hop Slam is overpriced" people are starting to arrive!

"Hey guys, that really great DIPA that is priced at $16-18/6pk is so overpriced! But man, that $14-18 4pk of *insert mostly anyother brewery* inferior DIPA is such a great deal!"

It's only overpriced compared to what it cost like 4+ years ago. It's kept up with inflation of other beers, and is still a great price in comparison. Go back to buying your $12 bombers of california IPA =D

I thought the same thing after I saw a 6-pack of Grapefruit Sculpin at Giant for the first time at $13.99. That's $2 less than I had paid at Total Wine.

The new one around here for me is Alpine. Specifically Pure Hoppiness. 19 bucks a sixer.
But honestly nothing is over priced for me. First I would rather pay the extra$ than wait 3 hours in line. And second if I personally truly enjoy a beer I will pay the extra to get it it and skip something else ....... Or save until I can buy it. Really the skies the limit. ( not bartering of course)

Not a thing. He's expressing an opinion shared by several people on this site.

(Sometimes its referred to as the law of supply and demand.)

Maine Beer co is way over priced.
The Bruery (although I still spend the money)

I think the worst here in MA is Lord Hobo. At one point they were charging $16 for a 4pk of not that great of beers.

Agree wholeheartedly. I don't pay attention to price much so I can't speak to that, but Heady is just overrated and so is Sip of Sunshine. I'd definitely drink SOS again if I see Heady I would pass and gladly drink Another One from MBC over it price be damned

Over priced is everything Ballast Point, and anything Hoppin Frog. Ridiculous pricing for what it is, I'd also put GF/ Alpine beers in here too, they're a bit pricy too, more so than I feel comfortable with given what it is. They're good, not great,

To me, being in the midwest, Ballast Point is overpriced. This is almost completely based on the freshness of the inventory when it reaches us. If Sculpin would hit shelves before it was a month old, it would be ok, but I rarely see it fresh around these parts.

Also, The Bruery's bigger stouts are overpriced to me. They end up being more alcohol/booze bombs that I find hard to enjoy at their price point. Now their more common bottles are not a bad value for the most part.

I agree Pliny is not a top IPA for me anymore, although I wouldn't say it's overpriced as I believe it's in the $5 range in CA for those that know where to find it. The bigger problem with PTE is the format as it would have to be priced differently in 4 or 6 packs.
I would put all the Maine Beers in the "overpriced" category though as $8-$9 for a 16.9 oz bottle across the board for all their beers is ridiculous.

I got pliny for $5 a bottle last year in California... It's steep, but not compared to, a stone bomber here ($12), or getting unnecessary fast food, or a beer at a bar etc. $5 to try one of the most sought after beers, and fresh, was a good deal for me. More was like $5 for the experience

He's missing the point of the original post..what beer do you think is overpiced? Yes, each of us have a certain price point where we say enough is enough. I get all these high minded discussions of supply and demand, but it doesn't change the fact that as an individual, at some point, each one of us says "yeah, no thanks" because of price. So you can still answer the question without the mental masturbation.

preach. I don't want to pay the same price for a bottle of beer that I would pay for Whiskey, or say wine... its not how much it was priced by the Brewery why this huge mark up by the Dist or retailer.
