12 BUCKS!!! Whoa!!! That's cray cray. I just paid 7.99 at the grocery store for some. It was on sale but Total Wine has it regularly for 8.99.

To me anything made by the Mikkelar twins is way over priced. And Balast Point Sulpin....at 13.99 a six, I'll be passing on that every time.

Pretty much anything in a bomber is overpriced, especially IPAs $10 or more and Stouts/Lambics over $15. I will splurge occasionally, but not regularly. As long as people (we) buy them, they will keep making overpriced beers.

I rarely buy bombers because they're usually overpriced when compared to 12 oz. bottles/cans. If there isn't an alternative and I really want the beer, I suck it up and deal with being gauged.

I would say any of the big hitter Imperial Stouts....$24 for a 750 bottle of Darkness..$16 for a 16 ounce bottle (I think..maybe 20) of Goose Bourbon Barrel....I got one of the Goose and none of the Darkness but it doesn't matter as many, many buy these up at those prices so they will be even higher next year..

Pliny in SoCal where I am at is $6. There's tons and tons of IPA's in the $10+ range that aren't as good as Pliny. Granted they are in 22 oz bombers but still.

In my opinion, any sour is way overpriced, but really that's based off my opinion of that style. I'll glad pay 15+ for a good BBA stout

I agree there are numerous better options than BBA Rasputin at a far better price

So for me, it's gotta be the Evil Twin/Still Water/Off Color/Against the Grain 12 percent group that entered my state a couple months back.

Molotov (and light) aren't bad. Citra Ass down isn't too bad. Hipster ale seems over priced. I love Biscotti and the aus mas jesus beers from prior trades. But anymore their $13-19 respective pricepoint on 12/22 oz. bottles has hit a nerve. Their 4 to 6 pack prices are even worse. Unlike BP, their prices are high without any BA score backing. Their labels are appealing. They all seem legit.. But I look at Ba scores, and the higher price point just does not match what I want to spend money on. Rarely do I see singles either. Someones buying them though. Not one of them is within $3 of anyone else with a remotely similar product. I guess BP may be somewhat close lol. Rico Sauvin was something like $17/bomber, as a DIPA.

Is anyone else seeing the same with this 12 percent distributor group? Someone must be buying them.

There is also one brewery I can think of called Cedar Creek. They have an IPA called Dankosarus. It's priced about $3 above elevated IPA in my local market. BA score seems okay. But rarely is the beer fresh or is it even tasting good. I haven't seen it. To compare Mother Road enters my area with Tower Station IPA at nearly the same price as elevated. Pricing your product can be tough. But It seems to be accomplished on both the lower end and the higher end.

On a local front, I won't name names. but these newcomers to bottling have set themselves up for a standard $10/22 oz. bomber price on EVERY one of their releases (for the most part). So if its a tropical IPA with rare hops.. $10. If it's a imperial coffee brown.. $10.. Baltic Porter with a high amount of IBU.. $10. Another brewery has done the same with their bottled offerings.. Chocolate milk stout at 5.2%. $10.. DIPA at 8.1%. $10... What's truly odd is that one can go to these breweries and get growler fills for nearly the same cost (and triple the quantity). Convenience and accessibility is a huge markup, I suppose.

Grimm does cost an extra penny (Cloudbusting was $6/ can), but I know that I am paying for PROVEN quality. The price did make me hesitant to try Grimm...but after I finally pulled the trigger, I know why it costs more.

Other Half is what, $16/4 16 oz. cans? That acceptable?

Basically $4 pints if you compare to "beer bars". And by NY standards, that's a steal I guess. $16 four packs would be a tough buy in my market though.

Although $10 bombers seem okay for some consumers. So a higher priced 64 oz total format is the best format of them all imho. Many dont see it that way.

    To compare
$16 64 oz. of cans equates to $0.25/ounce. That is basically a $5.50 bomber.

Our perception on price is out of wack. Even I am guilty sometimes.

Why change formats if people seem content with the prices. 90% of the time, they don't make sense when you calculate the 'what ifs'

This is what I was thinking too. I haven't found Ten Fidy below $15-17 dollars per 4-pack in PA or Delaware. As far as I know, Old Rasputin is the cheapest RIS around at about 10$ per 4-pack and Victory's Storm King is close. I'm glad I can get FBS for much less than 20 though. Poor Florida.

Yeah, in my market, Seattle, the rule of thumb I find with Lagunitas pricing is that it is often 30-50% (!!) less than beers of comparable quality. 4-5 bucks for bombers of Hop Stoopid, Gnarlywine, or their two stouts, for example, are an outstanding value in a format which almost never is. Their barrel-aged coffee stout, High-Westified, was $9, which is unheard of for a beer of that kind. That I liked it better than beers which cost twice as much or more made it even more absurd (and generous).

The value on their six-packs can be just as good. Anyone else would charge $15+ for Brown Shugga, or put it in a 4-pack at a similar price, but here it's $9 or $10. Born Yesterday, Sucks, Undercover, Nighttime also run $9-$11 depending on the store. At their level of quality, and at their ABV, quite frankly, they are basically in a class of their own where value is concerned.

Against the Grain in bottle format. Funny when you see the same beer side by side with the canned version.

I think Pure Hoppiness sixers are pushing $15-16. I don't think Duet or Nelson are bad beers, I'd go for an occasional Nelson if fresh because it is unique, but I think it's a bit pricy for what it is, but that's me. I had a Pure Hoppiness on tap yesterday $7 for a 12oz pour, pretty steep.
Furious is $10 a 4 pk of 16 oz cans, all day long. Abrasive is pricy but IMO that's worth the money as well .
