At Travail, you can get a "Fender", which is Furious and Bender mixed together. Pretty much everyone who works there will shout "FENDER HERE!" when they bring it out to you. The other people at your table will probably think you're pretty cool.
I echo what DarrenE said -- drinks are separate, cocktail list is fantastic.

    Jumping in here...

We are headed up this weekend from Des Moines for a wedding in Rogers. Probably only have time for 3-4 stops on Friday. From other threads here I had decided that I was going to try for Surly, Dangerous Man, Town Hall and Indeed. I talked with family up there and he said to skip Town Hall (said it is like a Granite City) and go to Bauhaus instead. Just looking for the opinions of local BAs. I want to try to get in a tour at Surly. I see that they start taking reservations at 11 am on a first come first serve basis so I will aim for that.
I'm also looking to bring a couple growlers back for a bottle share and have read that Dangerous Man only does a limited number of growler fills per day? Will I have any issues there? I was recommended a brewery closer to Rogers that maybe we could visit between ceremony/reception or if time allows elsewhere but I'm can't remember what it was. Looking at the map it might be OMNI?

Skip Bauhaus and definitely go to Town Hall - miles ahead of Granite City.

Town Hall is only like Granite City in that they both server beer. Their beer is by far better than Granite City and they now have a tap line always dedicated to one of their BA beers. I would skip Bauhaus and go to Town Hall with out second thought.

Dangerous Man no longer has limits and they also sell crowlers now.

Rogers and further north (I live in Albertville), is a craft beer waste land. Though, all Willy McCoy's (there is one in Albertville) may still have CW BBS, the food is horrible though. I haven't been to Omni and can't think of any other brewery that would be close. Another option for that area would be 3 Squares, they probably have the best tap list in the area. Oddly enough, for Maple Grove being kind of a big shopping/eating area, there is too much for good tap lists.

Hola Arepa is fing amazing. You will not be disappointed! If you're going for brunch, I highly recommend the Tostada Chilaquiles with Pork. Also make sure to call a day ahead and get reservations if you have a party of 6 or more. It's a pretty small place and it's always packed on the weekends, but worth the wait regardless.

Definitely skip Omni, and if you do stop (you should) in at Town Hall Brewery (not Townhall Tap, or Lanes) Republic is directly across the street and home to one of the best tap lists in town, plus they offer flights.

No offense, but I would never ask for this family member's opinion on anything beer related ever again.

On my personal list of Minnesota Breweries that serve growlers I have Town Hall #1 with a bullet.

    Speaking of restaurants:
The revival is a great choice, as someone said butcher and the boar is great and usually has a big tap list (one of the best restaurants in minnesota), also check out dark horse which is an up in coming bar and if you like mixed drinks at all you should go to tattersall (Distillary in NE by a lot of the breweries). And yes blue door and 5-8 are both better than matts
Breweries the best are Dangerous man, indeed, surly, and town hall.

Really? my worst so far is Matts...and what a dump...I would give the edge to blue door in that battle but 5-8 makes a good juicy lucy as well.

While I wouldn't say skip Bauhaus for Town Hall since I love place, Town Hall is nothing like Granite City. It's completely worth the trip there.

Yeah, I'm not saying that Matt's has the best in the cities as I prefer the Nook's or Blue Door, but I definitely think it's much better than 5-8's. I like dive bars with an attitude, so I dig Matt's, but I can see why others wouldn't.

Yeah. You should, like, give some thought to just cutting this person out of your life altogether.
