It's an $11 barrel aged stout in a 750ml format. It doesn't live up to other barrel aged beers that are twice as much per ounce, but it's not a drain pour. Would I recommend trading for it? Nope. Would I grab it off the shelf if the mood struck? Sure.

I'd be curious about this beer in a blind taste test against some other stuff though. I had it fresh on tap and really enjoyed it without knowing any of the bad press it was getting. I still think too many people are biased by previous reviews and go into drinking a beer "knowing" they won't like it.

I never had the second batch but the first one was not very good.

I hope I can land a bottle by packaging a King-Henry with either a BCBVS or perhaps a CBS, but since CBS and BCBVS is obviously so faded, I just I'll just drink my beers and miss out on this retired gem :slight_frown:

why would this be worth anything? It's mediocre beer, at best.

Exactly, there's still a ton of it on the shelf by me and it's definitely not moving quickly. It really is just not a good beer and I don't see it improving much either.

On the shelf here in MN, too, at some places.

I grabbed a few because I think it's an excellent beer, though I like my waffles, toast, & croissants slightly burnt. I can totally understand why people aren't wild about it, but I'll be happy drinking mine if no one else wants them...plus, when I'm done with them, I'll go pick up a few more.

batch 1 traded decently when it first came out but crashed and burned after a bunch of poor reviews. batch 2 doesnt really trade at all since there was so much of it and it wasnt essentially brewery-only (minus some small distro in philly and boston).

Victory was one of those breweries that BAs were raving about in the beginning but never managed to evolve to the next level like many have.

No trade bait, just solid brews in many styles with a large distribution footprint. Shock, horror!
