Hoof Hearted

Nice, maybe these winter releases will allow for more distro. How was Cultrider by the way?

 

I am guessing the light crowd had to do with the weather and also maybe because black IPA's aren't quite as appealing (at least to me and some others that I know). Had that coffee saison last night...my God. That was an abomination. It tasted like instant coffee. First Hoof Hearted beer that I thought was terrible.

 

Just had Wangbar this weekend. Wow, definitely on par with all the great East Coast IPAs. It was fantastic. Juicy and so crushable for 8%+. Definitely need to make friends with someone from Columbus!

 

Cultrider was quite amazing... Like I said, first black IPA I have really enjoyed. The dark malt character was well restrained, still relatively juicy. That ABV was near impossible to detect. I am a huge porter/stout guy, so mixing Hoof's juicy style of IPA with some of that dark malt was just amazing. Huge fan!

I do agree with Ryan above though, the coffee saison was rough... Hoping with time it will get better. Not planning on opening another for a long time... It did taste like instant, cold coffee. The coffee cult rider was insanely delicious, though.

 

Anybody know of any retailers in Cbus that will take holds on hoofhearted releases?

 

Cultrider is around Columbus today - giant eagle MD and Gentiles has some as of a few hours ago

 

Aficionado's has it and Ale Wine and Spirits has it.

 

Saw a twitter post about being opened 1/31 but no other details that I can find. Any other insight?

 

1/31 should be Blabe release. Get there bright and early!

 

If anyone is planning on heading down and is passing through Brunswick off I71 I'd be down for throwing down on gas for a ride. Hope it isn't against the rules to be ISO a car pool on this forum. If so please let me know and I'll delete this post.

Also FYI for those who didn't make it down to Cultrider, the parking situation has changed a bit since the Wangbar release when they had people parking where they shouldn't be and getting stuck in the mud inside their lot (guilty of getting stuck!).

They cleaned up the lot, removing the tree's that used to be in front of the brewery area. They also put more gravel down everywhere. When you pull in, they guide you to a spot. It's no longer a free-for-all when parking. Much better method that allows for far more cars to get parked in the lot.

Roller Blabe on Sunday. Hoping to get at least four 4-packs. What time should I get there and what should I come prepared with? First timer here

 

I suggest arriving by 11am. Bring a taster glass and a few good beers to share with in line!

 

Is there usually a limit? And do they ever have old cannings available or is it really just solely the new canning that they sell on release day?

 

1 case limit. Only have new cans for sale.

 

Should I bring a fold up chair?

 

Yes to fold up chair, also I would bring a growler to fill with some draft only option(s).

 

Don't mean to sound dense but what is one case? Since the cans come in 4pks, I would hate to go all the way down there just for 4 cans.

And do they sell growlers on site?
