My tongue-in-cheek answer about when the shop will open is that it will be the same weekend as FoBAB. I think it's going to be a lot like the current Half Acre set-up -- taps for growlers/sampling, but not really a place to hang out and drink a few glasses.

And while I don't often like the "check beermenus" answer -- here, it kind of applies. Depends on where you are and how far you want to travel. West Lakeview Liquors and Binny's - Lincoln Park seem to get the most product -- but then you walk into Binny's - River North and see that they have tons of bottles just sitting on the shelf. Are there any specific bottles you're looking for?

^^no not really. I have wanted to pick their stuff up but the only time i was in chicago and saw their bottles it was an ipa and i just assumed it was past its time and i want to give it a fair try.

I really hope the blueberry berliner doesnt sell out everywhere in like an hour. I want to buy a large amount of that

If the IPA you are referring to was Ninja vs. Unicorn, it doesn't stay on the shelves long, so it most likely wasn't past its prime.

It wasnt. One of their golden ale and the other was their imperial red.

If you have a smart phone (assuming the website is mobile friendly), you can check the batch number (written with a sharpie, generally) against the list they keep on the website: http://www.pipeworksbrewing.net/master-page-1#!__master-page-1

Something Hoppy This Way Comes is for real. My favorite yet from the Pipeworks crew and definitely in the running for best Imperial IPA made in Illinois.

Drinking Quintessential tonight - good stuff. Hops are definitely in Pipeworks' wheelhouse at this stage.

I think its pretty safe to say Flash will die long before iOS goes away. But that's a conversation for another day/forum/whatever ... is it 5pm yet?

Went to Binny's Lincoln Park today. Managed to get Cash 4 Golden Ale, Froggy Style, Poivre du Sichuan, Quintessential, and Ubiquitous. I believe they had Smoked Porter, Close Encounter, Hyper Dog, and Jones Dog as well.

So Something Hoppy already sold out at LP? South Loop still had it as of 2ish - also had a ton of Enjoy By.

My guess is that any Something Hoppy at that Binnys location got is limited to the FwB list (for another couple of days, anyway). I think there was a batch or two of NvU where there just wasn't enough to give Castle Vav enough for the FwB list and for the shelves.

I kind of suspect that many bottles don't get picked up -- speaking personally, it's easier for me to get to the River North Binnys and I just get bottles there. Also, and this is entirely on me, I kind of feel odd asking for 1 of the 2 (or 3) new bottles at any given time. I can't explain it.

I probably should've realized this since I'm in FwB. I have a similar situation. Binny's SL is closer to me and usually just has what I'm looking for.

I'm right there with you. I'm a fwb but have just been going to south loop instead. Haven't picked up any of my bottles in lp for quite a while.

Picked up some Quintessential, Something Hoppy, Poivre, End of Days, and Barrel Aged Smoked Porter today. I just cracked open the Quintessential and this stuff is beyond legit!
