I saw this (the BCBS '14) the beginning of December. I didn't even bother trying to buy one or even ask because the prices in there are nuts. Pretty good selection, but too pricy.

Yea agreed. I live close by, so I shop there for groceries. Occasionally I'll get some beer but usually the prices are just too insane. They have some Eclipse variants for $42 each right now.

Hell...they still got Stone RIS bombers in there, last time I was there. They had a decent number of stouts with a good 6 to 9 months on them already. Pretty good if you're looking to pay a few bucks overprice for some stuff that's not out anymore.

Hopefully their coffee and BW kegs aren't infected.

Didn't opt for the BCBBW but the BCBCS was money! Makes me sad about the bottles.

Not to resurrect this thread, but if anyone is still looking for BCBS, Fine Fare on Ave C in the east village still has about 6 bottles left, i was just there, and they're $10.

WF Bowery still has cases upon cases of regular BCBS out on open display.

Did any one in the NYC area that was able to get there hands on any Coffee or Barley wine, get any bottles that turned out to be infected? Looking on the Great Lakes sub-forum, it seems to be the case for some. I was only able to get 2 bottles this year and haven't cracked one yet. I was curious to see if any one had an issue with their bottles?

i opened a coffee within a week of buying it. tasted fine. i opened a BW more recently, and it tasted a little bit off (had a tiny bit of tartness which is odd for a bw), but still was good. scared to open my other two coffees.

Dang, a friend shared his coffee with me a few days after he bought it. No issue, im just afraid my two will be infected, which would suck considering all the trouble i went through just to get 2 bottles

Got 2 bottles of BW in NJ and decided to crack one open last weekend to test it out. Sadly, it was indeed infected. Lactose sourness all over the place in both nose and taste and I had to dump it.

Batch number was 1600 or 1601. Can't remember.

Like most folks who got an infected bottle, GI is reimbursing me for the cost and sending a shirt.

Sucks as I'd rather have a non infected BW, but GI handled this about as best as any brewery could. The whole process on the phone took 5 minutes.

I opened up a bottle of BCBS coffee I purchased in the city and it was definitely infected...

I opened one last night and it was infected. Don't have the bottle number in front of me but can report back. It came from either Prospect Heights Beer Works, Covenhoven, or Brooklyn Harvest, if that's helpful or even means anything.

Opened a bottle of coffee at the end of December that tasted off. Not full blown infection yet, but some tart cherries starting to come through a bit and not much barrel. I had left it in the fridge since I bought it at Carmine Street Beer. Had a bw a few nights ago, which I bought at Whole Foods Chelsea, also been refrigerated since purchase. Was definitely infected. Not as bad as some people describe but definitely not right, and I couldn't make it through the bottle. I'll be calling for a refund today most likely.
