New to Burlington NC

    Afternoon all! We just moved to Burlington from Wyoming and I'm looking for good places to get brews. We've gone to Harris Teeter and the Co-Op downtown and were able to get some pretty good stuff, but I didn't know if there were any hidden gems that weren't showing up on my Google searches.

    I know I can get better selection in Greensboro or Raleigh, just looking for something more local in the meantime until we get settled.

    Bestway grocery will be your absolute best shop around. Theres not a close second. There are some great shops in Raleigh but not worth the drive with Bestway located in Greensboro.

    Welcome to NC! And, yeah, Bestway is where you want to go when you're willing to make the (short) drive to Greensboro.

    An if you come to shop at Bestway, I recommend a stop at Sticks N Stones (diagonally across the intersection) for good pizza and beers.

    I live in Burlington too, so welcome. Only place in town for a beer is the Piedmont Ale House. Great beer bar, 30+ Taps, all kinds of stuff available. They do growler fills too. It's on St Marks Church Rd. the only place that's really good for buying beer here in town is Lowes Foods on University Ave. they have maybe 5-6 taps, growler fill station , all locals that rotate. They have Foothills stuff in bombers and a nice selection from about everywhere. Nice wine selection too. The beer lady there is very knowledgable too, and she understands dates and such.

    Other than that Bestway is a 30 minute drive, and it's beer Nirvana. Roger is putting in about 30 taps yo drink on site, or growler fill. Right now he's got about 6 or so. If it's available in NC Roger has it.

    Bestway is the best IMO in close driving range from Burlington.

    If either of you guys decides to make the ride to Bestway and want to grab a beer at Sticks N Stones, just shoot me a message since I live walking distance... My best availability is on the weekends.

    Just thinking that our hours of beer shopping and going out for a beer might align better than with some others - rarely out at a bar after 10:00 PM.

    Lol I don't go out much , but it's mostly Sat or Sun 12-1 and I'm done. I can't remember the last time I've been in a bar at night. I work 5 minutes from Bestway, an easy beer run for me.

    Yeah, I'm usually a middle of the afternoon on the weekend out for a beer kind of guy as well...
