So glad Founders is distributing to southern CA, last week I picked up six-packs of Centennial IPA, Pale Ale, Dirty Bastard, and Porter. I really enjoy Dirty Bastard and Porter, hopefully us southern Californians can get some FIS, FBS, and KBS.

Do those of you down the coastline in California getting a few of the Founders beers, feel as though they are adding nothing to the already great beers in Cali?

I'll be honest, moving away from Kansas City I miss these two brewers the most:
    Boulevard & Founders!

On the flip side, I have been exposed to so many unbelievable offerings up here in the Pacific NW. So no, I shouldn't fuss too much

Just wait until you Cali natives try Founders Breakfest Stout & Canadian Stout.

Don't recall where I saw it but someone at Founders stated that the shortage of Maple Bourbon Barrels is the limiting factor, so they have to save them up - but if they sit too long they are no good. They just used some for Project Pam, so I would not expect CBS this year. Maybe they should make a maple bourbon also, thus generating their own barrels...

To be honest, there is enough maple syrup out there and more than enough bourbon barrels. More maple producers just need to age what they got. I made a list of all barrel aged maple syrup manufacturers, if anyone is interested. Also, maple syrup is aged in other barrels as well. Mainly rum and a Brandy or two.

I do not know how much Michigan Maple Jesus was brewed, but they are aging in Blis Maple syrup barrels, which is what founders uses for CBS. There may not be any (or enough) available this year, assuming they even want to brew another batch of CBS already.

Anyway, around how much do their beers cost? I'm mostly talking about their year-round stuff.

All day IPA price point is quite awesome. Here in Michigan you can find a 15 pack for 12-14 dollars. FBS and FIS are 10-12 dollars for a six pack. Most the beers are in the 9-11 range for a six pack. The bombers (backstage series) are a bit more expensive but depending on the style range from 14-20 each.

The six packs usually range from $7.99 to $10.99, depending on the store.

FWIW, I was at Founders Brewery a few weeks ago when they tapped a CBS keg and had the nice fortunate of being served by a friendly bartender willing to engage in a chat about CBS. Interesting bit that he mentioned is that they are planning on bottling CBS this year for the first time in a while. He wasn't sure exactly when they would be available but stated that the bottles will be initially offered to Founders employees before anyone else got a chance. Another bartender that was standing nearby echoed those comments.

Expanding so they can experiment is great for us guinea pigs who live close to the brewery.
