Feel the same about both of these comments. Bottles & Draft = meh. Cans = yay! No clue why.

(I'm not referencing a ton of samples here - 2-3 six packs, and 2 draft occassions in the last year. But experiences were the same.)

It was to the point where I too was "just about done" with Be Hoppy. Very glad I snagged cans at the brewery last week. Actually had one right after a 1/19/16 bottled Lunch and in many ways preferred the 1/11/16 canned Be Hoppy. Have been making a bunch of Weds can day picks ups at Treehouse and a smooth & crisp west coastier IPA is a nice change of pace. I'll keep an eye on the social media for canning runs and keep my be hoppy consumption to cans.

They really should look into it. I've had bottle runs that varied from other bottles...some better than others, but I've never had it in a bottle that was as good as the cans. Never. I seriously doubt that they would mess with the recipe, since the beer is a hit, but something isn't the same with what's coming out in bottles. I pour into a glass every time anyway, so it's not format bias.

The bad Be Hoppy I had was in cans (super fresh and from the brewery’s cooler) so I don’t agree that bottle packaging is the issue. The beer should taste the same in either bottle or can. I’m thinking the cause is the new brewery. Or hell, maybe they had the same issue as Trillium where the hops supplied to them were inferior, but I’m grasping at straws. Regardless, I value consistency too much – and my hard-earned money – that when I get burned like that, I’m not interested in buying the beer anymore.

I know it could just be my palate, but I really haven't had a good Be Hoppy since they were banging out those cans at Peppercorns. Hasn't been the same since, cans or bottles.

I don't remember the exact date but when a new wave of cans came back to Boston out of the new brewery I thought it was one of the best tasting batches I've had. This 12/28 batch is so far from that it's like a completely different beer.

The CO2 flush on a state of art Prospero line is far superior than a Wild Goose mobile unit.

I wonder if some of these complaints are due to age, I've kept Be Hoppy for a month to compare to the next month. Kept at home in the fridge the month old is about 90% as good as the new. However older Be Hoppy from a store (at least partially kept warm) gets harsh and metallic a bit soapy, it's not the same beer.

What I wanted to find out was if I could hit them near a canning day and buy 2 or 3 cases for the next few months. At least for me the answer is no, better off buying cans for drinking that month and if I don't get replacements get growlers since they have one of those awesome Austrian? growler fillers and then I get to get all sorts of other things and I be happy going there monthly anyways. Really shouldn't be a surprise some of my and well pretty much everyone's favorites you either have to go to the brewery or hit one of a select few trusted retailers (i.e. Tree House, Hill Farmstead, Trillium) Buying at the brewery is always best, retail is ok when it comes to cans since they don't last on the shelves.

The bottles I bought from retail were stored in the fridge. We're only talking three weeks here and in the middle of winter. What IPAs do you drink that drop off a cliff in that time (as long as there weren't some serious storage issues)?

No surprise. Was grasping at straws. My current 6 pack of bottles is quite good. Better than the prior batch.

I haven't really seen any of their beers in cans around the Attleboro beer shops. I've also noticed that the beers are starting to hang around a bit longer. Not that they're not moving, I've just had no problem coming across Be Hoppy, Bottle Rocket, and Blizzard of 78.

Any recent sightings of Buddha's Juice in stores? I know it popped up in some places last week, but was told that some stores would get theirs this week.

Just found some bottles of Be Hoppy at a very small liquor store that I only pop into because it's next to my usual grocery haunt. Nice surprise. Distribution must be getting a bit thicker north of Boston.

I've only had Be Hoppy once before and I liked it but didn't love it. This is the first time I've had it since Lord Hobo came on the scene and, at the risk of inciting a shitshow, it reminds me a lot of the newer versions of BoomSauce. It has that same minty and unusual bitterness to it that I find in BS.

I'll be interested to try a can to see if I notice the bottle vs. can difference others have mentioned.

Just had a sixer last week of their Puxatawny Pils, but that was all the store had from them. Very drinkable!
