Locally, small places with less room to keep up with the numerous seasonal releases on top of the steady regular sellers don't hold onto overbought seasonals like the cases of Pumpking folks have seen. Seems like they rarely "overbuy." A buddy of mine told me he would rather sell out than overbuy.

I do like when the Celebration at grocery stores is on fire-sale at 9.99 or 10.99/12 to get rid of the "Christmas beer" on 12/26. That's about the only time I buy away from my local shop.

New Holland's Ichabod has been on sale for a few weeks now at a lot of places. Usually see if for $3.99 a sixer.

I bought 2 cases of Anchor Christmas for 15 bucks each 2 weeks ago. I found this place a few years ago and I have gotten some epic deals there. Master distributers will always have something at the end of a "season" worth buying.

Most shops near me seem to be polar opposites; either they:

    1. Know almost exactly what they will sell and move their stock well, seldom having old things on the shelf if ever
    2. Order too much of everything but still sell 10 month old beers at the normal price

    So I haven't really seen anything :slight_frown:

My local ABC just discounted FBS last week to $9.99 a 4 pack last week!
It's upsetting to see a lot of out of date IPA's for regular price there, though.

We've got it at my local GROCERY store for $4.99 a sixer.

We also have had DFH Punkin for $1.99 a four pack for a long time. I bought 4 of them and still have a few.

ST Krampus holds up pretty well, so if anyone sees those things marked down, snatch them up.

Festivity or Okto? If you haven't tried the Festivity, $5 is a bargain and-a-half.

I feel that 9.99 is actually a fair price for a 4-pack of FBS. I think that is often the price I pay although I'm sure places sell them as high as 12.99.

A great beer to cellar. If it ever got down to 7.99 on clearance I would probably buy a case.

Anyone know off-hand how well Schlafly's Christmas holds up? My local store has it on sale for $6.99 and I really dug it this year. I assume it'll hold up for another month or two, right?

It's the Festivity. I will pick it up now that it's been recommended. I'm far from a Goose Island hater, but just didn't have any motivation to try it.

Pick it up. It's a really, really nice beer. Though far from a Goose hater, I do find some of their standard lineup and seasonals to be fairly poor. But Festivity is the exception. Really solid. Same goes for their winter ale: nothing crazy or flashy, but a pretty well-done brown ale.

I'm not usually a big Brown Ale drinker, but I'd had the GI Christmas beers in the past and liked 'em, so I decided to take a chance -- it really surprised me. Much more than a Brown Ale, big flavor and character -- a real winter warmer at 7.7, IMO.

And @nick0417, I liked the Festivity much more than this year's Winter or Autumn ales.

If about 50% of pumpkin beer producers would cut their pumpkin beer production to 0, just maybe there will not be too much laying around, turning to silt.

I usually buy a few St B Xmas Quads when it goes 1/2 price. I usually don't bother to open them until the following Xmas anyway since I like the extra time on it anyway.
