I wasn't happy about it but I grabbed one. Averaged out with the new de Garde bottle John's also had, and it came out to just over $20/bottle so whatev

I already grabbed 3 from Upright which also contributed to not buying any more

Was everyone around town over $25?

Looks that way. Belmont has - or probably had, at this point - them at $26.99 cash / $28.07 credit.

FWIW, the wholesale price was just shy of $20/bottle. Either the brewery opted not to sell it to their distributor for much less than their "retail price", or the distributor took a huge margin because "fuck you, they'll buy it anyway."

Fantasia doesn't hit WA distribution, right?

Good to know, thanks. Assuming you're all out?

Just out of curiosity, does that sort of thing happen very often out here Chris (in PDX)? I used to see that kind of nonsense periodically for beers in huge demand back East (the price for the CBS first bottling was all over the map), but was under the impression that this behavior was pretty rare out here.

Any sightings around PDX in the last day or so? I'll be around for the next few hours & want to grab a bottle or 2 if possible.

The brewery is out AFAIK. I know Saraveza & Tin Bucket had some last week, but I'd guess those are gone by now. I realize it's probably a long shot at this point.

John's Market had around half a case on Sunday. Price was in the $27 - $28 range (my understanding is that the distributor does not offer a wholesale price for Upright BA beers), so you're going to pay a bit more than what the beer would have cost at the brewery.

If you plan to visit John's, I would recommend calling in advance. I'd be surprised if they've run out of it in the past few days, but you never know. Good luck.

I'm really glad they got rid of that original ridiculous label.

Will Fantasia make it up to Seattle? I loved this beer when I had it a couple years ago and I'd love to snag a bottle.
