If you have plenty of time go thursday, wednesday is cans only and the norm is 2 different beers, and 8 cans pp per beer. Wednedays move very fast and you could be jn and out in 10 minutes, hours are also convenient if you have the day off. Limits are not as predictable thursdays, but if you are there early, you should be able to get 3 different kinds of cans plus growlers. Thursdays are busy, people start lining up before 3. If I want to be within the first 50 in line 3:30-3:45 is a good time to show up, the line gets pretty long after 4. All these things could change depending on what beer they are selling, good luck! Oh and dress warm, gets chilly up there!

Please keep the focus of these monthly brewery threads so that they remain helpful to others. They're not about trading, values, what other sites are doing or mindless banter. They're about what's new this month. Have something worthy/helpful to contribute to the thread? Post away. Don't? Don't bother. Thanks.

did this batch of Sap taste a little Nelson Sauvin hopped and not Chinook hopped? Had alot of TH elements to it, but there was a white wine taste in there that was not expected. I've had Sap once before (2-ish years ago) so I've got no real reference on the beer, just on the hop description.

I don't get Nelson, but it does finish much drier than a typical TH beer imo. Side note- I had one on Thursday and having another right now. It's amazing how a few days lets the beer chill out a little bit. Thursday was a little harsh. Today's is giving me a more juicy orange up front before the bitterness kicks in. Much smoother and flavorful.

I age all my TH cans for at least 2 weeks. I think it makes them infinitely better.

Infinitely better than infinitely good is still infinitely good. I will say, a 2-week-old Green or Julius is freaking amazing. Then again, so is a fresh, day-old Green or Julius, in a different way.

I wouldn't bet on that with Doppelganger being done last week but you never really know

I would think your looking at 2 IPA, 1 DIPA and a stout this week but I don't know anything at all about the brewing schedule

One of my favorite things about Tree House is the anticipation of what cans are going to come out. It is probably the only brewery that people will line up not knowing what beers is going to be coming out.

From what I've observed with New England breweries. Tree House is the only one that announces beers 24-48hrs. Prior to release. Is this true or does anyone know of another brewery that does it that way. It is pretty cool. I looked forward to the tweets, even though I only manage to visit once a month or so.

How early do you need to get to TH if Good Morning was on the menu? Noon on a Thursday or Friday seem reasonable?

Not sure if you're trolling or know something special, either way, I believe there were people in line at 10 or 11 last time it was released. That said, it didn't run out so people the next day were also able to get fills.

I guess sort of a half troll... just wondering how early to get there in the event GM is on tap. I don't mind waiting a little while, but some people are just more dedicated I guess. It would be tough convincing my wife that I'll be gone for half a day to get a growler of beer. I went last Friday and people were there at 1:00PM before they even announced Doppleganger. I was there around 4:00PM and was out a little after 5:00PM. I should note they did open the door early; I would assume based on the size of the line and the cold weather.

Treehouse announces releases as soon as they are packaged, which normally is only a few hours before they open, with the only exception being on tuesdays, they will can a beer that is available on Wednesday and announce it ~24 hours before they open, they also announce another beer on wednesday. I don't think they have ever announced a beer 48 hours before release. Breweries like bissel brothers announce releases weeks/months in advance. Lawsons announces releases weeks in advance. Hill announces releases at least a few days in advance. They are more. A more accurate statement would be treehouse is one of the few breweries that doesn't announce releases in advance

Good morning is usually a silent release. Keep up to date with the forums, and the easiest day with the smallest crowds is usually the day it is released. Also pay attention to how much is available, because treehouse will let us know how much they have. Lining up 5 hours before they open is most likely completely unnecessary.

What he knows is probably the fact that good morning is listed on treehouse's EBF lineup. I personally am not convinced that good morning will be availble for growler fills based on what nate said prior to the last release.

Growler wait times are very rarely over 2 hours. The longest i have ever waited is 2.5 hours. They reduce limits if they know the line will be long in order to get cards filled faster. So showing up any earlier than 3 means you are just deciding to wait longer IMO. The only time that I would think differently is when they announce that they are only filling a certain amount of cards (in the past it has been 300) which has happened a few times.

Not even 750mL fills? So GM would be released in cans then? What did Nate say exactly?

Up until now, Good Morning has been strictly 750ml fills and typically one per person, and it usually lasts for a few days at those limits. It would be fair to expect it to drop in the next week or two seeing as it looks to be on tap for EBF and they preach freshness. Here's to hoping!

No, they don't announce growler fills in advance, if that is what you're asking, and i would not expect good morning to ever be packaged in cans. This in Nates reply from October when asked about the next release of good morning:
"I have enough of my preferred maple syrup for one more batch this fall / winter. . . not sure when it will be. It doesn't follow a release schedule."
Since then it has been released, and I would assume he would not get enough of his preferred maple syrup until late winter/early spring to brew another big batch, I might be wrong about this.

And here is another qoute from nate regarding his views on different packaging options of his stouts if that was what you were asking:

"Have changed my thinking on this a bit. Double Shot is a beautiful fresh beer, and should be kept cold. Bottles run the risk of triggering a cellaring mentality. Double Shot and Good Morning will not get better with age, especially at cellar temp. In my opinion Double Shot & Good Morning should be enjoyed as freshly as possible, regardless of format. They both evolve beautifully in the growler for a while, but they are, again in my opinion, at their very best < 6 weeks old. Beyond that the intense coffee no longer provides the proper balance to a super rich base beer. The beers still have merit, but it's like Jordan on the Wizards, ya know?

So... Double Shot in cans. :grimacing: Not sure about Good Morning just yet. Barrel Aged beers definitely still in bottles, along with mixed fermentation creations we've been working on."

Regarding nates qoute on good morning, he said on 10/7 that he has enough maple syrup for one more batch, and good morning was released 11/13. Is it possible that the november batch was already in the tanks when he said that? So maybe there is another batch that we might see soon?
