I really enjoyed Fresh Squeezed, but I can't get their beer here unfortunately.

My favorite of the "Big Breweries". Mirror Pond is a great, smooth beer, a true Pale ale, and not just IPA-lite. A former co-worker is a brewer there now. Great job Deschutes!

My brother-in-law brought me a variety pack and a couple bottles of Fresh Squeezed from Iowa summer before last. Such a solid brewery. I wish it were available in the Heart of Dixie. Maybe someday.

Got to grab a sixer of the Fresh Squeezed a few months ago down in Maryland and thought it was great! Wish there was distro in NYC. Really surprising there isn't.

You cannot go wrong with Deschutes, they definitely do make some pretty awesome brews!

    Cheers!

We don't get Deschutes in MD, but VA and PA have them. I've had 10 beers by them. Delicious beers nearly across the board in styles, but they truly have nailed how to make pale ales and IPAs world class on a big scale. Fresh Squeezed, Hop Trip, Chasin Freshies, Mirror Pond, Red Chair...all some of my favorites on the planet.

Love Deschuttes, I'm glad I can pick up just about every thing they have here.

Love Deschutes! Great beers at great prices!
Fresh Squeezed IPA and Obsidian Stout are go-tos for me.
My brother loves their new Pine Mountain Pilsner and the River Ale.

At restaurants and bars, I usually get Black Butte Porter on-tap. I hardly ever buy it to drink at home though...

Love the Red Chair. I stock up this time of year and cellar some for summer.

That would add another year to the production cycle of the beer, further increasing costs of an already expensive beer.

It isn't like Abyss (or their other beers which might have further bottle conditioning) isn't already excellent beer fresh. It's just that it will continue to improve with age, like many, many other beers.

Back to the OP - yeah, Deschutes is incredibly impressive in that they have a range of great "good 6-pack" type beers along with some excellent limited releases, and they manage to do it almost nationally.

They are far and away the most relevant "big" brewery in the PNW. Their only misstep for me was a version of Jubelale last year or maybe the year before that just seemed off every time I had it.

Hmm. I would have assumed the hops would have faded a bit. Maybe I'll try it (though in all probability I'll lose patience and drink them before summer hits).

Deshutes is world-class, IMHO. I've never had a beer from them that wasn't good. Black Butte is a go-to porter as is Obsidian in the stout category, Fresh Squeezed is astoundingly good, Red Chair may be better, fresh Hop Trip is better yet, and Abyss is ..... sublime. And that doesn't even get into their "one offs" (Stoic, Not The Stoic, Mirror Mirror, etc.).

Always have some of their stuff in the ovaltine family cooler system - used to be "the beer fridge" .....

..... but since Mrs. O bought me a second fridge for beverages for Christmas .....

..... it is now a "cooler system." Given Mrs. O's sudden and inexplicable love for sours after DECADES of "Miller Lite in a bottle, please, and I don't need a glass" (I created a monster at the Mankato Craft Beer Expo - just shoot me now), the 2nd fridge went from "overflow luxury" to "packed tight."

Deschutes knows exactly what the hell they're doing. They're amazing. Scale and quality to spare.
