Rogue Dead Guy Ale is my favorite beer. I went on their website and they have a Dead Guy Ale pint glass. I've been drinking from a tulip glass. Now, are they saying I should use a pint glass for DGA or is there a particular glass I should use for this style of beer?

The tulip will serve you just fine. (My personal choice is the Duvel tulip so there's lots of space in the glass for the whole beer.)

The only other glass I regularly use is the Imperial no-nic pint glass so I can pour vigorously to get a nice head on the beer.

I seem to enjoy most beer from a tulip than a pint glass. Is it personal preference or is there more to it?

I would drink Dead Guy from a Mason Jar. I do not believe Rogue is too snooty about what vessel you drink their beer from nor would they impose a required form of glassware with which to consume their offerings. It is, after all; The Rogue Nation.

The critical thing about glassware is that you can pick up the aromas from the beer. Beyond that most of the rest of it is either local custom or part of generating sales.

The shape of the tulip helps "focus" the aromas towards the nose. So not just personal preference. There are a few other styles of glassware that help concentrate the aromas where you can pick them up more easily and they mostly all will have a narrowing near the opening of the glass.

You should clearly drink it from a skull.

Shaker pints are cheap and easy to put logos on. That's the only reason they exist (from a marketing standpoint. They are also sturdy and easily stackable, which is another plus from a service standpoint.)

I think the tulip is the most versatile glass. I use it for just about every style except stouts and IPAs.

For my money, the Spiegelau stemmed pilsner tulip is about the most perfect glass out there - perfect capacity (15.5 oz), great shape for aroma and head retention and really lightweight, quality glass. Also really dig my Brooklyn snifter and my Libbey tasting glasses.

Considering the "style" of Dead Guy is a hybrid of the actual style it calls itself, I don't know what I'd drink it from. Probably my old Rogue shaker pint glass and get it over with.

Maybe a Willi Becher would be in that spirit with a bit of an improvement as well.
