In particular, I am looking to get my hands on some Casey brewing and blending bottles. I am coming up from Michigan. I don't know if I will make it up into the mountains to search at the stores around Glenwood Springs. If anyone in the Denver area knows where I can find some or if they have a bunch of bottles themselves, please feel free to hit me up.

Not sure there are any places in Denver that have any for sale but I'm sure if you listed some stuff there are plenty of people in Denver that would do IP trades.

I thought about that, but I am not entirely sure what the value of those bottles are going for. I am hoping to do a dollar for dollar trade with special release Michigan only stuff. Also I've only heard but never tasted any of the caseys beverages. It would be nice to have someones opinion on here before I attempt to make a trade. I tend to enjoy a very sour stuff. I also like stuff for the little bit of a funk. I also enjoy fruity stuff but I don't like it to get to Yeasty. I would love to know what bottles from Casey I should be seeking. Any help would be awesome, thank you and advance. Cheers!

If you're into 'very sour stuff' you might find yourself disappointed with Casey. Just putting it out there...his beers are fabulous, but I wouldn't call any of them very sour. There are a ton of sours to be found in Denver - I'd guess you get Crooked Stave in Michigan.

Honestly, Casey just may not be what you're looking for... I LOVE everything Troy has done, and part of that is because it's NOT super acidic/sour for the most part.

Other sour beers you may find interesting would be from Powder Keg, TRVE (I haven't tried the sours yet from them), Paradox (somewhat controversial but the newer offerings have been solid IMO, check ratings). Also Avery sours (you may get most/all of these).

There's also a bit of Crooked Stave here that probably doesn't see wide distribution, many of them can be found at the taproom and the prices are pretty reasonable compared to other places to buy them.

You can always overpay for Cascade. There's no shortage of that on our shelves.

Truth, that is some expensive battery acid.

For the cheap stuff there's always DESTIHL.

The Destihl reserve stuff is good but it's not cheap. $18 or $19 for ... 650 ml.. maybe 500 ml? I don't remember.

The canned "wild sour" from Destihl is kettle soured IIRC.

I was referring to the Wild Sour cans, which are cheap.

Yeah, Casey beers won't be "sour". Some Crooked Stave beers are, like the Nightmare on Brett versions. La Folie may still be around on some shelves. Cascade's beers will be the most sour and are collecting dust here.

There's always Trinity, too. They aren't (usually) cheap, but they're typically good and many are quite sour.

There are also great taprooms around town where sours can almost be guaranteed to be had...TRVE, Baere Brewing, Former Future, Avery, Epic...all always have great sours.

    But no...they're not bottles...

I would actually argue the converse for TRVE... I have never had a sour on draft there; every sour has been bottled - CVLT offerings or otherwise. That being said, still plenty of good draft picks available at TRVE and as of last weekend bottles of Cursed (Sour Pale) and Red Chaos (Cherry Sour) were for sale to-go.

True. Or shall I say: TRVE. But bottles are readily available...

TRVE Cursed is really flying under the radar IMO. It's a really nice and delicate saison type beer that's similar to the likes of Casey Saison or Low End. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I see what you did there  but seriously, it's great being able to get bottles more easily these days. They were flying under the radar early on (Manannan / Tiphareth / Winter Zephyr) and then Crimson Death dropped.... MADNESS!

We are now fermenting everything at the Acid Temple with our house mixed culture (which took me ~2 years to settle on) and then only bottling those beers. On the other hand, all of our "clean" beer is brewed at Broadway and only kegged. In this way, we have simplified our process for packaging as much as possible (Acid Temple = bottles, Broadway = draft). Hope this gives some insight.

Also, I'd recommend making it to the Ecate release.

THANKS EVERYONE! I appreciate all the advice. A lot of the stuff mentioned I have had and I plan on hitting up looking for some of them in and around Denver. I completely understand them not being that sour, with that being said, I still love fruit beers in general and still hope to find some. I have heard great things. Always love the beer community. Cheers!!

Makes perfect sense, thabks for the clarification. Any chance Ecate will coincide with the next CVLT release?

I don't think it's possible to be disappointed by carry, just wanted to make sure you were aware the pucker factor was pretty low. Quality is as high as can be though.
