Just checked my untappd, and I had this out of a growler in March 2014. I assume this was b1? If so, it was good, but nothing mind blowing. If I was drinking b2, then completely disregard. That said, I found it odd they would call it a "one-off", when they have made it twice previously. Almost feeding into the .rar machine.

That's probably B1. On B3 as of now. Maybe they mean one off canning? Though I'm sure if it is a hit it won't stay one off.

It's not worth driving from Raleigh. Just let the locals get it and the release won't be so crazy. It's an adjunct stout - not sure why everyone goes crazy for these types of beers.

    ^ No kidding.

For those of you Captain Ahab's lining up at 2 AM in either Asheviille or Winston Salem this Saturday in order to get your hands on FT or SC... have fun. As previously commented on above, just too much good and reasonably priced beer out there these days which can be obtained without being sucked in to these release hype shows.

Lining up for SC is more about the party than getting the beer though. Everyone knows it's going to be all over the place in stores.

Re: the SC release. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. That would be me sleeping at that hour of the morning. Too old for that stuff these daze. Oh well... enjoy the party for those of you attending.

Re: the FT release. To me, that whole release approach just seems dumb. Seriously? 90 cases? Simply have a lottery like the Portsmouth Brewery in Portsmouth, NH did back in the day when the release of "Kate the Great" was the rage. Sell a scratch-off lottery tix for say $2 for a chance to win the ability to purchase (X) number of beers. The ticket itself would be a winner or a loser. That way you know where you stand then and there and not have to wait in a line. Then WW should give the proceeds from the money generated from the $2 lottery tix sales to a local charity, knowing that will have recovered their sales revenue through their sale of the beer itself to the actual lottery winners. Alas... I am not stupid to the fact that the masses of people on the short end of the lottery stick will likely spend some money at WW anyway.

This is what I say every Monday the week before one of these types of releases. By Friday, I'm going to be early so I can get up hours before the crack of dawn to go sit in the cold. Get sucked in every time.

And it's not a good beer. Tastes like a Black IPA.

Founders Imperial Stout (One of my fav. shelf Imperial stouts) has 75 IBUs and tastes more hoppy and more bitter than SC. So is founders Imperial stout a black IPA too?

One of my favorites as well. Nope, and even with their old 90 IBUs. Because it has a nice, thick body and a massive amount of roastiness. Another good example of Imperial Stouts that taste like Black DIPAs are Victory Storm King and Bell's Expedition Stout.

The party is really where it is at. Free (albeit usually terrible) snacks, great bottles of beer and an opportunity to meet and great with your fellow "craft crazies". Honestly, Foothills puts on the best free bottleshare that anyone can get into that I have seen anywhere hands down.

I'd rather wait in lines and enjoy the people I am hanging out with than sleep and complain about it on the internet.

Just had the nitro version of the FT stoit again tonight and it is so underwelming. The Smores stout killed it in every way.

Will this make it to distribution? If so, any chance it hits Atlanta? I am hoping to score some of it.
