Unfortunately , I have my daughter's baptism to attend on Feb. 6, so I will not be able to make this release. If anyone from the east side of the state (Metro Detroit) is planning on attending and NOT purchasing their full allotment of Hazel's Nuts, I'd be very grateful to them if they could pick me up a couple 4-packs. Obviously, I will get them the money to cover this and hopefully drop off some thank you beers as well. PM me if this seems reasonable. Thanks!

ISO Hazel's Nuts. If anyone wants to share some of their allotment hit me up. Can do Paypal and thank you box with things like Bullfrog Grzz, BA Gratitude, Jackie Os etc. as a thank you.

I was toying with the idea of making it up there for this, but I don't think I can pull it off with other family obligations. If any other Chicago folks are going and not getting all 5 cases, let me know!

How long do the Odd Side BA beers typically sit in barrels before bottling? @joshflashgordon can you provide any insight on this? Specifically, I'm curious about Hazel's Nuts, BA Mayan Mocha, and Hipster Brunch. I appreciate the feedback in advance.

I've heard 8-12weeks but would love confirmation.

Wow that's all. I do like some OSA beers but I don't get a lot of barrel character. That would explain it.

Not to mention, you can get a 16 or 20oz pour of big beers too, for the same as others would charge for an 8oz. Oddside rocks!

I was thinking the same thing when I had my first Hipster Brunch last night. I thought it was absolutely awesome, but not much bourbon flavor at all.

Depends on the beer really, if we feel that it's been enough time and the beer is where we want it, we pull it out. Typically, it's about 6 months for big stouts. Sometimes more, sometimes less time. We are just looking for that balance without blowing people's faces off with bourbon.

Hope to see a lot of you this Saturday!
    Cheers!

I appreciate your response @joshflashgordon . I actually prefer the subtle (yet very noticeable) barrel presence in BA beers, so definitely good to know.

You'll definitely be seeing my this Saturday.

Thanks again for the feedback, and cheers!

That's why I love your guys' barrel-aged stuff so much. I mean, I love bourbon and beers like BCBS as much as the next guy, but a deft touch with the barrel can really add a dynamic level to a non-BA beer without feeling like you're drinking a boilermaker.

First trip to a major release, excited to hang with some like minded people. Already set up a meet for my first trade at the release.
