New to Ohio (2016)

I've confirmed Hopslam for 2/1/2016 in Cincinnati. Tappings all around town on 1/31/16

 

Imagine the prices of 6pks and 4pks

 

Short's announced today that they are going to start selling their beer outside of Michigan. They didn't say any states specifically but I'd think Ohio would come at some point. The thought of being able to buy Cup A Joe, The Woodmaster,The Wizard, and Spruce Pilsner in Ohio makes me very hot and bothered.

 

I'd buy just as much of it as I do now...ok I won't go on another rant on these guys. Just happy to have fat heads and jackie o's doing their thing and doing it well!

 

BB Dark Ap and Madtree Axis Mundi at GE Market District Grandview right now. Also, not beer, but a Robert Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Cabernet. Yes I bought one and yes I am intrigued. I like barrel aged beers, why not wines LOL?

 

It got pulled in the Dayton market when the 12.2% was discovered. I missed it.

 

I enjoyed 1000 stories which is also a Bourbon Barre Aged Cab. Had that bourbon burn.

 

If a 22oz Bomber of BA BORIS is $16, then a 4 pack in 12oz bottles would cost $35 and 6 pack of BA BORIS would cost $52. Before tax.

6 pack of regular BORIS would be ~$30.

 

BA BORIS bombers are $15 locally before tax, so those prices would be a little lower, but not much. Only reason I mention this is because I wanted to see how the 4-pack price compared to the BA Blackout 4-pack price of the last few years.

 

Ohhhhhhh fuckkkk. I hope my local place in Canton gets it.

I like regular BORIS better than Reserve. I got no aroma off Reserve and I find that just a little unusual considering it was supposed to be using "premium" ingredients. I guess whatever he uses normally is better all in all.

 

I actually thought the same thing originally, but I had another sample of it very recently and the aroma was there. I don't know if they brewed more or if it just needed a little time but it's worth revisiting.

 

That's what I was thinking...maybe a little more time.

Still DORIS blows them both out of the water and just about any other stout on the market, IMO.

 

I'll take Dark Apparition, Oil of Aphrodite and Hippy Sippy over DORIS any day. Just personal preference though.

 

Yeah, I really don't get the appeal of JO tbh, but I love that people will trade their first born for a $6 bottle we can find anywhere.

 

Hey, different strokes for different folks man. I love the shit out of Jackie O's. The nice thing with our hobby is there so much to choose from that there's something for everyone out there. I haven't found that Jackie O's trades all that well unless it's their real limited stuff actually.

 

I spoke ill of JO's once on this board... Totally sacrilege dude. Though shalt not question 'Jackie O's' Or 'Hoof Hearted... No exceptions!
