2009 Blackbeerd Tapped Today at Coast

    ....and by the time I got home from work they were already done filling growlers. I hope I have more success with the Barrel Aged Blackbeerd when it comes out. I'm drowning my sorrows in an Imperial Biscotti though, so I can't be too upset I guess. I just wish they would have given a heads up, I could have tried to make plans to be there to snag a growler.

    Last time I was in CHS and I went to COAST they tapped a random keg of barrel aged and i managed to get a growler. Today they tapped a vintage regular keg and I missed it by probably 10 minutes. Oh well such is life.

    Yeah, from all the stories I've heard, they pretty much just do whatever the hell they want. That's gotta be a great feeling.

    Yeah but it also prevents people,who are making a conscious effort to follow what they are doing, from taking the steps necessary to get their beers when they come out. Such is life though. I'd rather have it come out of nowhere than have one of those terrible overcrowded brewery only release events full of mules.

    This wasn't really a release. More of a random tapping for the people who were lucky enough to be there that day at the right time. Like I said above last time I was there they had a random keg of barrel aged Blackbeerd on. The announcement basically was a tweet that went out 20 minutes before opening that said something to the effect of, "Well, we just realized we are out of Kolsch so our 4th beer today will be Barrel Aged Blackbeerd!"

    Son of a gun I just looked back and saw there was an announcement this time at 11:30 AM but I totally missed it. That will teach me to be social and not on my phone while eating lunch.

    Yeah I know it wasn't a release, but I was thinking ahead for the bottles release of BA Blackbeerd.

    And yes, I saw the Facebook announcement, but I checked in the AM before I went to work, and nothing. By the time I had gotten home from work the ship had sailed. I hate twitter, so I refuse to use it, but that seems to be the only way to guaruntee that you hear the news.
