If anyone is at meet the Brewers today just hit me up on here. I'll buy the first round of samples. Hell, I'm feeling generous, I'll get the first two rounds.

This thread has been extremely helpful for me! I have found so many places to burn my money on great beer. My only question is, when is the SJ bottle share?!

I would love to, but these days, I can't afford to show up with anything rare or expensive. People would point and laugh and l would cry.

I would be down with a bottle share. I remember from another thread that ISO said they were OK with em. I wonder if Harry's is? Hey man I know bottle shares sometimes turn into my beer is better than yours, but it shouldn't really be like that. The few I have been to, I was happy when someone showed up with like a session beer or something. You can only have so many high alcohol barrel aged stouts and your palate is gone.

I'd be down for a bottle share sometime. I'm a reserve society member so I get a lot of the bruery goodies, though I won't have them until I make my SoCal trip in March.

Damn, this makes me want to meet up with other BA's in the area to enjoy delicious beers with... most of my friends don't really share my enthusiasm for beer.

Adding recommendation for Liquid Bread and Spread in Campbell. Both pretty great spots.

+1 for Almaden Whole Foods. My office used to be right across blossom hill road; The beer selection in that store is superior to just about anything in the bay area! And, they get Pliny delivered on a regular basis. So cool to hear they opened their taps.

Now that my office is closer to home I hit the RWC Whole Foods, which is also stellar. Picked up Firestone boxes there and even Abraxas! Alas no Pliny for San Mateo County :slight_frown:

Welcome to the Bay! Almaden is a great area in San Jose, I'm sure you'll enjoy. Some great recommendations on this thread

I'm visiting from MN this week and this thread has been helpful. Stopped by Santa Clara Liquors and picked up some BA Bomb along with a couple bottles of Eclipse, then grabbed a bottle of Sucaba at Whole Foods along with dinner.

Santa Clara Liquors was a little expensive, but on the other hand they had a huge selection including a case of BCBS just sitting there.

I'll be staying in downtown San Jose my last night so I'll try out the places there then. The rest of the week is up in Fremont, which seems pretty weak. Maybe I'll try to get down to Stuft Pizza for dinner one night.

Stuft Pizza is definitely a good bet for food and beer. In Fremont try out California Craft, they have a pretty solid selection there most times I've been. There's also a good Whole Foods in Fremont. They usually have a nice selection in their taproom. If you haven't checked out Mission Creek, I highly suggest making sure you check it out before leaving SJ.

Minneapolis is my second home, you guys got some pretty good stuff over there as well.

I'll be at Mission Creek tomorrow for pre-Black Sabbath festivities. I'll be the white guy with black on and probably feeling pretty good by showtime.

Mission Liquors is pretty awesome (Fremont) and so is their sister-store on Mowry (The Cork and Bottle?).

I'd totally swing by but I got class at Mission tomorrow night. On the bright side I always go to Smoke Eaters beforehand to do homework and throw back a few pints.

I was at Mission Creek last night and noticed there was a sign that said no corkage fee......So if a bottle share or a SJ beer advocate hang out were to ever happen i think this would be a good spot.

I've gone there before Sharks games a few times with friends. Buy a 6 pack or two or a 12 pack and bring it up to pregame on the cheap.

Yeah, we had one or two house beers, then went a bought a sixer to bring back up. Not that we needed any extra buzz since the pot smoke at the Black Sabbath show was double that of an average reggae show.

I have been lurking in this thread for a while now and thought maybe I would break cover and ask a quick question about bottleshares.... There seems to have been some talk about trying to get together somewhere in the San Jose area, so my question is - how many people are really interested in trying to get together on a "semi-regular" basis?

Not promising anything at all with this posting, again just trying to gauge interest, if things sound promising we can all talk more. So any comments/questions/thoughts/frequency/etc... post below.

For me it really depends on the dates and timing. I work 50+ hours a week, do night classes and I'm married. I'd be willing to come as often as I can, but I couldn't commit to always being able to. That said, if something gets going I'd make a real effort to come when I'm able.
