Shout out to Anchor. One of the most beautiful (inside), historic, trend setting, iconic, enduring, friendly, not to mention delicious breweries.

I know that you are referring to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, but I do remember that what is now Virginia Commonwealth University was formed from a merging of Richmond Professional Institute (RPI) and The Medical College of Virginia (MCV) in downtown Richmond. Richmond Professional Institute was founded in 1917 and ceased operations in 1968. I haven't thought of this in years.

I was referring to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (based on our ages alone that is probably the only answer) but interesting trivia that you have pointed out.

Shout out to Evan and Emily at Plan Bee. Warm and welcoming from the beginning, inviting virtual strangers into their home when it was too rainy to hang outside at the farm stand. Evan taking us into his brew house. Gifting me a bottle because he wasn't sure how one batch was developing vs another and wanted me to try both. Gifting me another bottle when I was shut out at a release months later. Holding a massive, awesome bottle share on his lawn. Remembering everyone's name- I don't know how he does that. The nicest folks in beer.

If I wasn't spending many, many thousands on dental work now I'd have bought a hive membership in the blink of an eye.

Another shout out - I know they're big time now but tired hands man! I started going the week they opened and Jean and Magic Man always took time out to talk with me and make me feel welcome, actively seek feedback on their beers, and so forth. I told them from the beginning they would be stars of the beer world before long. It kills me that I don't get to that part of the world very often anymore, if ever.

Shout out to my local binnys guy (you know who you are)

Very informative and trustworthy. Once asked his opinion about a beer and he told me it wasn't worth the price... Didn't try to pedal another beer on me either.

It's nice to have a go-to guy that will hold bottles of stuff he thinks I will like without me needing to ask call him.

I walked in a few weeks ago and he had a 4 pack of lizard king set aside for me (before pipe works ramped up production)

Also shout out to OP. Cool thread. Hate the whiners/jerks/trolls around any online forums too

I got a terrible bottle of Highwater Brewing Camp Fire Stout once. It was completely out of code, just terrible. I posted about it on Untappd and they commented and asked where I had gotten it from. I was amazed I even got a response.

Shout out to the God Fathers of craft beer in KC. Thanks Boulevard! Also thanks to my bud Bob, who has the uncanny ability to get his hands on some super rare stuff and ALWAYS is first in line to share these rare bottles with his friends. Thanks Bob!

I know many like to disparage Anheuser Busch but in the spring of 2014 I was chasing Budwesier limited edition baseball cans (released March/April 2014 to coincide with start of baseball season) and it was so difficult to find the distribution of the limited edition in each of the cities I was visiting. As i went to each city, I would call Anheuser Busch(AB) and ask for help in locating the cans. Customer service knew me and obviously realized they were receiving many calls from the same phone number. Toward the latter part of the chase, I was in Boston and its a city where AB does its own distribution so they directed me to the distribution center where there are no retail sales to a walkup customer. When i arrived, I gave my name and headquarters in St Louis had arranged to leave 3 cases for me for free! It may not be my favorite beer but I give a shoutout to Anheuser Busch.

Thumbs up to Shane @Sixpoint He saw my post about some of his beer many moons ago and made it more than right. A bomb landed on my front step one day and I have been buying and loving Sixpoint since.

Victory and Philadelphia Brewing both gave me a replacement case for bad beer. Victory acknowledged there was an issue by opening one of the same dated beers from their beer library. Pretty cool.

Jim Koch sent me $10 after I emailed to let him know Rebel was not at all like the description on the bottle.

HUGE thanks to Jim Anderson..........The single person that changed beer for me forever. Pitchers of Transcendental lager(Yuengling) in those fancy pitchers at Tavern on Green gave way to Jim asking my girlfriend and I to stay after close and have a tasting with him while he told us what those amazing tastes were. I tried to go every time Jim tended bar there. I learned a lot and Jim is a great guy. One day I want to get to his B&B in Scotland.

Huge Thanks to Tom Peters. The second person to show me great beer. I remember the Copa days and early Monks.

Huge thanks to Carol Stoudt who shared her great beer with me at a fest way way back in the early days and turned me on to the great local beer. I had no idea existed.

    Enjoy

Shout out to all of my local brewers whom are stepping up and making some better beers. Some newcomers and some have been around for 20+ years. All seem to be taking the step and making better beers. I've complained in the past, so here's my shout-out!

Big shoutout to Big Rock Brewery and Village Brewery here in Calgary. Good, honest breweries that support the community and produce some great local beers that are well priced and tasty, too. I'll give Minhas an honorable mention just because I feel like they try hard, but sometimes they just can't get the recipe right. That being said, no camping trip is complete without a case of Mountain Crest.

Furthermore, another shoutout to Brewsters and Wild Rose for being local, unusual and crafty. Great beers brewed by great people and right here in the heart of Alberta, too. Great job you guys!
