Got to wonder how many cans the guy coming out with his mom and two cases of Blabe is going to consume... Pretty frustrated to come home empty handed. Though I guess they will be opening the brew pub that I can ride my bike to...

Tried to score a four pack off someone with no luck. They "found" another keg blabe and was able to get a glass and a growler which was cool but still no cans. Oh well.

You had to expect with the unseasonably warm temperatures today that this release would be crazy busy. I for one was very happy they decided to open their doors at 10:30. Still had time to share some great beers and get home early

Totally agree but why open at 10:30 when you advertised noon? If I knew they would open doors that early I would have gone at 9 instead of 11.

I missed the first but hit the next few releases and it's easy to be nostalgic about last summer!!! Anyways, the soft opening should be in about two weeks for the brewpub. Oh yea, baby. Cheers!!!

I think they had to open early cause they were running out of places to put cars. When I left around 1030 there was a line waiting to park down the road

I never understand this argument. Everyone thought they were opening at noon. It's not like anyone had inside knowledge or something. If they would've advertised an opening at 10am, then the first people would have shown up at 6am instead of 8am. It changes nothing. Just get there as early as you can next time.

They opened early because of parking issues. It didn't matter what time you showed up because the people in front already made the decision to show up earlier. If you wanted to guarantee for your cans, you should've shown up earlier. Ok hit there at 9am and got my cans. If they're opened up after 12pm, people works have complained for opening up late. If your that upset, don't support and buy some cbc.

There's always gotta be something to complain about. It is craft beer after all, the most butthurt hobby of all time

Exactly. Everyone should know the game by now. If you want beer like Blabe or Dragonsaddle etc., you have to get there earlier than you think you should.

The thing is, a lot of people thought they "knew the game". I have been to all but 2 or 3 cannings going back to the first one when there were about 2 dozen people there at a quarter after noon, so I have witnessed the explosive growth as has the road warrior @invertalon. I think he has only missed one over the past 8 months. He, along with many other people (including me) agreed that if you are there by 11:00 you should not have a problem. That definitely wasn't the case today like it was for Dragon Saddle (which was perfect weather and the first canning for it, unlike today).

Before I go further, I should have prefaced this all by stating that I am not bitching or whinning at all. I have drank plenty of Blabes, along with most of their other great beers. I also have had some great bottle shares and met some cool people (like Chaz today). In fact, I used standing in line as an excuse to crack open and share a Jack's Abby Bride Maker. Consider it constructive criticism at worst, although I hate to criticize anything they are doing. Great people. More of offering suggestions. Like limiting everyone to a 12 pack. By my terrible math, that means twice as many people get to take home beer. 12 pounders isn't a bad day.

I felt bad for the guy in front of me. It was his first time there, and after an hour and 45 minutes he left empty handed. He, along with several in front of me could have been there based on all of the recommendations in this thread. Even my wife was surprised when I came back to the truck empty handed. She said "there were a lot more people here last time". I realize none of us are entitled to anything, but it seemed like there was a change up in the carry out amount. However, I think there was still enough of it overall to cover everybody that showed up. No big deal. Just beer at the end of the day. Really, really good beer:grinning:

Yeah I'm well aware you should get there earlier but as previous poster mentioned 11 AM is pretty solid or HH. You could have gone to the KD release at 130 and got some. I'm wondering what the production amount was on this because it was certainly not what it usually is.

I feel bad for people that don't get any too. However, the word is out. This is how it's going to be. It was a simple miscalculation. I'm sorry you guys didn't get any. Really I am. I also agree the limit should be reduced so more people get some but Hoof Hearted can run their business the way they see fit. At the end of day, I just hope people see it from your point of view wesmantooth. There will be other opportunities to get some roller blabe in the future.

What really frosts my ass is the couple that rolled up in their white pickup at 10:30 went right to the front of the line because they want to share bottles then the doors open and they just stayed up there and got 2 cases and didn't wait 5 minutes in line. Although she had a nice set so I guess it's ok.

So does anyone know what the canning is for Saturday February 6th? Or when we should expect an announcement? It was mentioned in a reply string on Facebook but have seen no other mention.

100% agree. I think people were more upset because of their expectations going in. I showed up a little later for the KD release (11:15 compared to 10:45 today), landed around the same spot in line, and made it out long before they sold out. Big props to @WesMantooth for sharing his bottles and helping me score 2 cans of Blabe. It's always fun hanging out and meeting new people, so it wasn't a total bust.

With that being said, I definitely feel bad for the people who drove 2+ hours and got shut out. It will definitely be interesting to see how future releases play out.

Made the drive from Cleveland and got there at 11. Was glad I got there when I did with seeing the doors already open and the line being significant. Although frustrated to come away empty handed, am more interested to see if the total cases were about same as every other release or less. Was surprised to hear all cans were gone, especially after they made an announcement of a "small canning issue", and then short while later they were out. Anyone know what the issue was??

And as some stated above, we all know what the deal is now....get there as early as you need to if you want to guarantee getting cans. Popularity is only increasing and the weather will (hopefully) only be getting nicer too.

See y'all at future canning releases...early in the mornings.
