Surly Abrasive in Chicago

Why the worst? I know it is smaller, and they don't always know when shipments are coming in, but maybe that is out of their control? I'm just asking - I do not have a dog in this fight...

 

Ten cases of 12/1 landed at Binny's Schaumburg today!

 

The people that work there, I am not a fan of. Not very friendly or helpful, much prefer Bolingbrook.

 

They're somewhat friendly but most of the beer staff has no clue about beer and the shipments.

 

Went to the Tap House in Palatine for lunch today. I browsed the beer list. Saw some decent options. I happened to see a Surly tap when I walked in. Abrasive! It wasn't on the beer list. Glad to see it's still floating around. Nellies had Zombie Dust, but I went with the seasonal (and better) beer.

 

Someone posted a rumor another thread that Surly will basically be brewing Abrasive and Todd the Axeman year round now, switching them every couple of months. Really hope this rumor is true.

 

Will someone in the know please speak to this? I nearly fell out of my chair...yum!

I was at binnys dg yesterday and almost shit myself. Abrasive out in the floor, 7 cases high with no limits. Canned 12-3-15. Wish they would have put them out sooner, but I'll buy.

 

Ditkastache - saw the same thing at Plainfield Binnys on New Year's Eve. It was a sight to behold.....

I have no qualms about two month Abrasive. Still plenty good...

 

Most binny's have been getting regular drops. My local one has gotten new cases almost every other week
