The liquor section cannot require membership by law.

Anyone try the MSP Pale that's on at Surly currently? I have a feeling it's a preview to the Xtra Citra and I was very impressed.

I was about to comment about how I disagree about bitter brewer, then I finished reading your comment - and I wanted to say A) Its sad they killed it and B) they did it to themselves, because the last bitter brewer run absolutely SUCKED.

I didn't think the last Bitter Brewer run was bad at all. I liked it as a warm weather low ABV beer. Granted, it was my first taste of Bitter Brewer. What made it so awful compared to previous cannings? I'm definitely going to miss it as well.

The OP nailed it - watered down. Previous runs had a much larger mouthfeel. Not the booze, but just more of a hit. More flavorful.

Tried this on Friday along with the Furious Black and Surly Stout ... These were the 3 Surly's I had yet to try .

The MSP pale ale was really nice . Strong citrus and Pineapple smell hit right from the glass and a really nice well rounded beer. I won't miss Bitter Brewer at all if it's close to this . I Wish they could get the new stout out in can form at some point that had a really fantastic body and lovely toasty character .. Could drink a lot more of that one for sure.

I didn't get a date, but it sounds like they are aiming this to be in a lower tier pricing too. $6.99 was mentioned as the price point. Heard this from France 44 on Saturday, the day after Omar and company were there for the tap take over.

    I hope it is true.

I'll believe it when I see it. That would be fantastic!

It could turn out to be Lucid Air in Surly packaging. Then the price point will make a lot more sense.

Bitter Brewer used to be so fucking good. Like liquified marmalade on toast. The last version was a major disappointment, especially considering it's retired, and I will never again get to taste the finest beer ever brewed by Surly.

Don't worry, Todd is coming back in March.

Skeptically optimistic. I need a price point and, of course, I need to try it. Surly makes good product, but sometimes the batches are all over the place.

I loved Todd cans last go-around but for some reason $6/pint on-premise doesn't sting the way the $18/4 pks do for Todd. I know TG bombers at $8/bottle are still more per ounce, but it doesn't feel that way.

If they were smart, well whatever if they "were smarter," they would do 4-pack 12oz for like 10.99. I really think it's because it feels like you're spending close to $20 for 1 style of beer. If it's around 10 then it feels nice and you can compare it to like 2 hearted 6 packs and not feel quite as bad about it. I think it's all about how much we feel we are spending in that moment. No one cares about how long it will last....
