Just visited the local Moor Brewery in Bristol

    Moor Nor'hop
    Moor TFA
    Moor Old Freddy Walker

All were pretty spot on, first a North American hopped Pale Ale, second a black IPA and the last very distinctive strong ale. TFA was particularly well balanced for a black IPA, no smell/taste like burnt tyres like some and OFW was like Xmas pudding in a glass as they say. Most of their selection now available in cans so do check out particularly TFA.

Highlights would be the Kala, Amarillo Gold, Elderflower blonde... And, not a Saltaire beer, but on at the tap house, WOW. Revelation by Dark Star Brewing. Incredible.

I remember having Honey Mead in Olde Hansa in Tallinn wth Mrs. K a few years ago. It was 7.95 Euros a pint, but it was so good that Mrs. K demanded that we order another 2...or else.

Anyway celebrated the end of dry January (cough! and your birthday) with some fine beers.

An Teallach - 80 bob ale,
    Tempest - Old Parochial,
    Tempest - Saison du Pommes,
    Tempest - Double Shuck,
I&G - Toasted Oak IPA - actually very nice on daught,
    Arran - Blonde,
    Inveralmond - Fair Maid,
    Pistonhead - Full Amber.

    Good times...glad to be back.

The dog and partridge is a decent pub for cask ales. Also there is carrington's if all else fails you.

Tonight's been a good night. The best part of a bottle of Morgon, a can of Directors and a Pin Up Milk Stout (Flavourly box) which is not great. It has that harsh, stinging carbonation you'd find in a can of cheaply made Lager so it's harder to taste the beer itself. Nonetheless I'm at that pleasant state of inebriation we all wish we could constantly be at.

Ouch, didn't know that. The chorlton location is a lot less convenient. Is epicurean good?

    The Epicurean is good
Nearly the selection of Beermoth but not quite as pricey
Not the friendliest of reciptions in the world
but I like just to get on with it so no real complaints from me

Being the nostalgic that I am I'm breaking the fast with an Aventinus. It used to be in my top 5 but now I'm bored of it. I'll even be as bold as to say it's nothing special.

Been a while since I posted in here, think since the last time I was at a Stone meet the Brewer in Brewbot so had my fill of stone.
Also local bottle shop got a load of New Zealand beers in, 3 Boys Brewery, 8 Wired, Renaissance, Tuatara. So far over the weekend I tried 8 Wired Double Coffee Brown Ale which was amazing, really smooth and rich. Renaissance Enlightenment Black The RIPA, another cracker and finally 8 Wired - Hope Wired IPA again lovely.

Outside of that some standouts have been:
Wild Beer - Brett Brett Double IPA
Brooklyn - Intensified Barrel-Aged Coffee Porter
Left Hand - Bittersweet Imperial Coffee Milk Stout
    Buxton - Trolltunga
Evil Twin - Citra Sunshine Slacker
Loads of Vocation brewing stuff which is consistently lovely.

I got my sample box from Honest Brew and it contained: Beavertown-Neck Oil Session IPA, Buxton-Wild Boar, Howling Hops-Running Beer, Wildbeer-Wild Goose Chase, Fourpure-Pils, Five Points-Railway Porter (which I've had and rather enjoyed). It's not a bad selection but for the cost, I won't be keeping the subscription.
