RARtoons 2016 (3 can release on 1/30)

Pulp tastes more like a Northeast beer than the NE Nectar does. I ended up with 2 cases and 2 growlers of everything from the release. I've had my fair share the past few days. Pulp is definitely the best brewed beer out of the 3 release.

 

I felt that Pulp and 1st meal are definitely a cut above the NE Nectar. NE Nectar is solid but felt its overall fairly similar to regular Nectar. Pulp is just crushable, light bodied with the right amount of hoppyness, I could destroy that beer in the summer. 1st meal gets better as it warms, really brings out all the yummyness

 

I couldn't have said that better myself! I wish I would have tasted all the beers before making my can purchase. I didn't realize they were going to have so many cans left over, or I would of hopped in the other line to try all the beers first. I ended up with a case of NE Nectar, 4 4-packs of Pulp and 2 4-packs of 1st Meal. Then I got a growler of each of NE Nectar and Pulp (2 growlers thanks to my girlfriend attending with me). If I could redo that, I'd get a case of Pulp, 4 4-packs of 1st Meal, and 2 4-packs of NE Nectar with growlers of Pulp and MORE PULP! Definitely crushable. I'm hoping they release more for the summer, so me and the lady friend can drink these at the drive on beach. Cheers!!

What's up guys! Just wanted to take a second and introduce myself. My name's Chris and I'm one of the owners down here at RAR. Would love to field any questions and/or chime in on releases in the future. We're doing a small (2) can release 2/20, and then the big triple release on 3/12. For the triple release we are shutting down the street out front. Bands, food, etc. from 11 - 5. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

 

What is being released on 2/20?

 

Any kegs of Pulp, NE Nectar, or 1st meal going to be tapped in DC?

 

Meridian Pint & Church Key are getting all three. Various other places will have either NE or 1st Meal. 2/20 brings our BA Belgian Dark "3870" we brewed with Max's Taphouse. Huge notes of fig newton, raisins, cherries, and vanilla coming in at 10.5%. < 20 cases. Second can is "Marylan", single hopped low abv blonde with an absurd amount of Galaxy hops. The way she's tasting now it will probably fall into the can rotation. Loving it. < 50 cases or so

 

Of course! The least I can do is try to keep you guys up to date! We've been so overwhelmed these passed couple weeks that I haven't announced anything, just planned it. So you're hearing it first here (I'll update social media and the website tomo). Our newsletter signup is right on the main page @ rarbrewing.com. Just type in your addy and hit subscribe. We honestly don't have a can rotation as of today, except that we have enough hop availability to release "ChopDank" (4) times per year. We kind of went for it with these cans, and hopped we'd be satisfied enough to brew them again, and that folks would enjoy them. We're currently working on obtaining hops to keep them coming as that is our biggest obstacle right now. 3870 will be available at Max's, and we'll all be there that Friday 2/12. This version, however, was aged in a mix of various Bourbon barrels and blended. Super pleased with the outcome. Sorry for the long post, ya'll just got me excited. Cheers!

 

Hey Chris, I was at the brewery the other day to get my fair share of your last 3 can releases. I met with Toby when I was going through the canning line checking out, and he was very knowledgeable about what is going on at your brewery. I'm glad to see you come through with some comments on this post. As a sales manager, I know how overwhelming your social media accounts can become with all the work you are putting into your business. Just keep doing what you're doing, and keep us all updated as possible. I'll be there to snag some cans in 2 weeks at the next release. I'm really looking forward to your BA 3870...sounds like a real treat! My personal wish list includes the 3 beers you are releasing on 3/12... it's on the calendar, and I truly can't wait to get my hands on everything. I'm hoping for 1/2 case of each beer at minimum.

I had the BA 3870 at Max's Belgian Fest last year. It was pretty damn good. That was actually the first RAR beer I had, I think....which is pathetic, considering I worked in Cambridge for a couple years.

 

I'm planning to tap NE Nectar at Meridian tonight along with our Ocelot collab. You heard it here first.

 

Max's will have all 3 (NE, Pulp, 1st Meal) on Friday! I am planning on being there!

 

@rarbrew do you know what Randy will be bringing to Dawson's Liquors tomorrow night?

 

Dawsons replied to you "No Pulp unfortunately but we will have NE Nectar, 1st Meal and Farmhouse Nectar on draft for growler fills."
