Actually, I will have to double check mine... Looks like canning started about 3 weeks ago. Which means my original date in '15' must not have been possible. So what, I was in a hurry and dyslexic!

I've they they brewed a bunch of it this year and there should be far more cases available than last year. That said, it will probably go just as quick as last year since it won gold for the second time at GABF this year and releases are crazier than ever.

Stone rules... But they release a beer ever week. It's impossible to even keep up!

I'm right in the middle of the people who drool over it and the people who turn their nose at 'hypeslam'

Sure there are plenty of premium IPA's out there. Some of which are better than Hopslam.

On the other side, it does only come once a year... It's a pretty great style, seems expensive. Yet if you put it in a bomber it would be like $5.79 or something. For 10% that's not bad. Plus regardless of your opinion of it. Or mine for that matter... It has a 99 rating on here. I personally think that's a lil high. But it's gonna drive the hype based off that alone. So it shouldn't be too shocking. I hear ya though.

I really like Hopslam every year some years more than others...can't tell if it is palate variance or that eccentric ale variance that Larry Bell will tell you is intentional. Either way I find myself buying 2 sixers gifting 4-6 cellaring 1--2 and enjoying the rest.

There's so much malt and honey in the beer that it shares some characteristics of an American barley wine. I have a year old one in the fridge. It's what you expect the hops die down and you have a heavy malt beverage.

With the honey and higher abv this drinks similar to an American <hoppy> Barleywine. I know some folks who only cellar and rather than drinking it fresh.

New review Category: Look, Smell, Taste, Feel, Overall and now the new Chase/Hype category. How was the line? How many miles did you put on your car to get that beer? Did Shaun Hill make it for your Birthday or made a beer named after your child? What was the limit? Ratemule dot com

Beer is giving me ulcers and it's not the beer itself giving it to me.

I'm easily agitated but it's been pretty easy for me to avoid most of the stuff you mention. One of the easiest ways to do so is to stay pretty exclusive to the Ohio threads and avoid social media. Some of that probably comes naturally with being old, but it is worth a shot if you find your annoyance level getting high.

I was half joking but my head shakes more than usual with this hobby. The people I've met through this hobby far out weighs this though. To find a beer that you enjoy and don't have to deal with crowds, lines or hassle is better than any white whale beer out there. @miketd I raise a glass to you for finding your bliss at fatheads just enjoying a head hunter instead of trying to find the new thing.

@tepie Smitten is very good. Have you tried sitting on it for a year?
