GDDC in cans was by far my favorite HA release ever. The only release I would even consider waiting in line for there.

(I guess if you don't like citra as much as galaxy it's cool to disagree)

The bottle/can art is also cooler, in my opinion.

Noob question....have Friday releases of DDC sold out same day in the past?

Hey, I have a question to ask, the sort that I normally hate reading. If anyone has any opinion, let me know.

At some point, did the malt bill or something change on Daisy Cutter as well as Double Daisy? I no longer pour a hazy beer, but a crystal clear beverage. Additionally, any fresh cut grass type hop presence seems to have been replaced with a frankly generic pale ale type action, and in the case of Double Daisy, it was more like a West Coast IPA. Nothing as genuinely unique as I am used to tasting with these beers.

If I am crazy, or missed something when they changed these beers, please be brutal. They just seem like different beers to me. #oldperson

I haven't had DDC in years, so if this is the case, I'm curious. They certainly change up Navaja all the time (and a few iterations back it reminded me of your description of DDC), so it wouldn't surprise me if they tweak DDC a little as well.

Perfect timing, a growler or two of this for the super bowl sounds perfect.

I believe that bombers have sold out same-day the past couple Friday releases, but growler fills have been available a little longer. And a few bombers make their way to stores as well (I remember seeing some of the last release at West Lakeview).

Release is NEXT Friday, 2/12, after the Super Bowl.

Wouldn't want you wasting a trip.

Correct. DDC was distributed last release. Capone's had some as well.

I thought the last round of DDC bombers lasted until Saturday (or later), but I could be completely wrong. I know I got some, and didn't think I got over there on the day it went on sale.

Thanks for the feedback....I can't make it there until Saturday. Haven't had this beer in over a year. I'll settle for a few growler fills, worst case....

Was there on Saturday. Wait for a seat was one and a half hours, and you couldn't just take an open seat (unless at bar), instead you had to put your name on a list. Was more packed than I've ever encountered due to exact reasons you cited.

I don't see this as settling, I see this as winning/doing "it" (whatever "it" is) the right way.

    Oh God....

I'd rather not buy growlers because I don't live close to the brewery - at all. I won't get these filled again for probably another year. Bombers are a better option for me. However, beggers can't be choosers....

I mean, it's not like you would sit on bombers until the next release, right? This stuff isn't getting "better" with age, and after a month (and that's stretching it) this stuff tastes like an entirely different beer altogether.

I was in the taproom Sunday around noon or so. Got a table immediately. Only thing was service left a bit to be desired. But also there only appeared to be one woman working the floor for the whole place, so it's understandable.

The new food offerings are real good, though. Big in to that pork/pineapple burrito.

HA I believe fills outside growlers. Even still, 3 bombers are $30 and 1 growler + new glass is less money than that. If you have your own growler you're essentially getting 22 oz free. Growler for the win

Your opinion, but both great beers. BHA hit distribution though and iirc, the cans of GGDC didn't, so that was my point. Most releases since have hit distro, so I'm sure if they ever canned it again, it would.

I went there a few weeks back right after they opened on Saturday night, and 3 of us got the "wall" seats on the right just before the bar area. We had 2 or 3 beers, but ended up passing on the food menu - it didn't really excite us at all, and we went to Bad Apple instead, which was very good. I'd be intrigued to try some of the food items (pork/pineapple burrito was definitely one of the items that caught my eye), but it didn't really grab our attention to make us stay there.
