And 8 Buffalo on the 21st. That was the first release I went to at Beachwood. I can guarantee this one won't be the same.

Eh, I don't know. While all the non-BA stuff gets huge lines. The BA line up gets fucking crickets. The day after Fundamental Observation came out, there was literally 6-7 people in line for BA Full Malted Jacket. A beer that won GABF. Rye like an Eagle sat at Beachwood for a very very VERY long time.

8 Buffalo was good, but not worth the price tag they seem to put on the BA stuff.

Call me when Jean Quad gets released again.

I have to agree with 8 Buffalo not being that great. But it's on a Sunday and last time it was the middle of the week. I'm just wondering if it's better this time around. And to be fair, BA Full Malted Jacket and Rye Like an Eagle aren't super popular styles.

Did 8 Buffalo drop $5/bottle in cost or was it $20/bottle before as well?

    It was $25 a bottle.

That's what I thought. I'm sure that the $25/bottle price point for the barrel aged releases was a large factor in them sitting around for so long. $20 price point might make them move considerably quicker.

On my hunt today I was able to score 2 bottles of Pliny, 1 Supplication, and 1 Damnation.

Also picked up a Modern Times Floating World IPA and Pretty Things fringe pale ale.

I haven't had any of these, so I'm pretty pumped.

    Thanks Cali!

BevMo on La Cienega still has plenty of Sucaba at $16.99 and - when I left - one bottle of XIX at $23.99 or $26.99, I can't remember which.

Monkish Black Kisses being released this Friday. Sounds delicious. They are making exceptional beers with their house mixed culture. Juteux was a hit. Can't wait to see what else they make.

Ironically, there's a shit-ton of Founders there right now, including cases and cases of Breakfast Stout. My guess is there will be plenty of Hopslam after that event.

5$ uber ride will get you to El Segundo brewing, its in downtown el segundo, cool area to walk around and the redone tap room is really nice. They will be releasing some new beers this weekend too and have a bunch of their IPA's super fresh. You can probably get a fairly cheap uber/taxi to torrance and check out smog city and monkish too.

In addition to what fineout said, you may want to consider Flights Sports Bar. Decent taplist, especially for an out-of-towner due to sheer volume of taps... currently includes MT Monster's Park, and Nectar Ales Black Xantus among its offerings.

ps. Plz bring some Solstice D'été Aux Framboises and Bellwoods plz.
