Didn't bother with lottery this time. Will be out of town. Had my share of Citra last November. Good luck to all those going up. It's a blast.

Holy shit. I think I'm 1-5 now.

 

I've lost 4 in a row. My uncle has won 4 in a row. Rigged.

 

I lost this one. Still trying to decide if I want to drive up to hang out anyway. While I still love Citra, I think I actually love Shuttle Bunny more these days and that makes it down to LA from time to time.

 

I've been to the last 4 releases but this is the first time I've won the regular lottery! YAY!

 

Finally won! Coming up from San Diego, anyone got any good tips about making the best out of coming up there?

 

I mean... you'll have to make it all the way to Kern and if you stopped by all the places you should stop along the way, you'll probably get to kern at 9pm and drunk. likewise, the trip back from Kern if you get there early enough would mean you're pretty much stuck in traffic on the way back.

But hey, good stops would be;

Yea. Pick up the phone and call Kern Lodge and reserve a room right next to the brewery. Go straight to Kernville and check in or go to KRBC. Have an afternoon session at Kern and an evening session. Sleep at Lodge.

 

anyone know for sure if the Citra was flowing on tap during the entire pick up window last time? I know they limited pints, and that's fine. But I may come up on a Wednesday and stay at the lodge, but I seem to recall one recent release that midweek they weren't pouring citra on tap?

 

I thought they also staggered the citra from weekend to weekend only to make it last.

 

This is exactly what I did last time. Worked great. Kern Lodge is actually a pretty solid room, has a little kitchen and patio with a BBQ and everything. As long as you like lacquered wood.

I went on a weekend last time and they had Citra all day, limit 2 16oz pints. Not sure about during the week.

 

maybe Eric can chime in. Would love to come midweek, but not at the risk of no Citra on tap.

 

I was there on a Monday during the last release in Nov and they had Citra on tap, 2 pint max. Plus Shuttle Bunny, Hop Nookie, Class X... it was great! I also had an amazing breakfast over at the Cracked Egg Cafe on my way out of Kernville.

 

This was what we did on my first trip there. Great place to stay. Citra and Class X pretty much to ourselves. Came home with 8 growlers of Citra and a bottle of batch 1 Class X. Ahh, the good ol' days...

Missed out on the lotto this time. I got bottles three times in a row now--two lotto wins followed by 2nd chance bottles. Honestly not all that impressed the last couple times. Still gonna try for the 2nd chance bottles, though--that drive up there is half the enjoyment for me.

 

Now that's what I'm talkin about!

SOLID good down home comfort food there.

 

Does anyone know if they will have the citra glassware available for purchase when I go to pick up my bottles? If there is is there a limit? CAN NOT WAIT!!!
