Not bad for £9 though for that lot to be fair. Looking forward to getting mine later today.

Ah sounds alright then. I'll always remember that carrington's as being the first bottle shop that I was amazed by by the selection as they did stuff you couldn't get in supermarkets and had some of the awesome beers we had tried in Germany and Belgium, and some good American breweries too.

Fourpure Pils - quite lovely really. Quite a full body which is nice for a lager, plus a good bite of hops, spicy and fruity. Shame it'd be £12 or so for a 6 pack from m&s.

I had a can of that last night, was impressed again by it. Currently leading my lageroff

I'd even rate it higher than the Buxton Wild Boar I followed it with. All citrusy hops and no substance...

I also had my Five Points Railway Porter which is really an excellent low abv stout. Drinkable and really very tasty.

Followed by Howling Hops Running Beer brown ale. Wanted to improve on the smoked Porter so I thought I'd add depth and pay tribute to their tank bar by stirring up all the sediment and plunking it all in. Really good thick malts propping up citrusy and resinous hops, like a low abv dipa almost.

I had the fourpure pils, neck oil, and a Moor Amoor last night. I'd have to say the Amoor was my favourite. I'm not a huge lager fan, but the pils wasn't bad. I also could enjoy a neck oil if my options were limited.

    I liked Didsbury Carringtons
I can see how recently they might not have been able to match the micros , nanos and craft
but they'd been providing quality takeaway ales for some time

I've been out and about and popped in Lidl
Gonna try this Hatherwood no 4 Ruby Rooster
    Actually brewed by Wychwood's
So a big brewer pretending to be a medium sized brewer pretending to be a small brewer

    This was okay
A fairly malty very soapy bitter IMHO
To the other end of supermarket beer
    M&S Smoked Ruby

Another Fourpure Pils, this is the one from my honest Brew box. It seems a lot maltier, which I first thought to be indicative of it not being as fresh, however the bbd says July 16, whereas Tuesday's can was June 16, so unless they changed dating systems or have poor consistency, maltier seems to mean fresher. Might try and get some more from the same batch tomorrow to continue the investigation...

Ah, my other half brought home some hatherwood beers from lidl the other day. I didn't realise wychwood was behind them. One of them says Brewer by hogs back and the others don't mention anything.

They're all made by different Breweries and sold under the brand name Hatherwood for Lidl. It's a bit like the M&S craft range which is brewed by Hogs Back, Meantime, Adnams and Harviestoun among others.

Beavertown Neck Oil - bit of a weedy affair. I'm getting a bit bored of these "session IPAs".

Yeah, just think they should mention which brewery on all the bottles though. I've just seen on untapped that the range includes banks's, Jennings and marston's as well. At least there is a porter. Never had a nice ipa from marston's.

After my interview tomorrow, I'm going to hit up the Siren Caribbean Chocolate Cake and perhaps BrewDog Dogma Wee Heavy. Especially looking forward to the Siren.

Starting the evening with a Wild Beer Co Wild Goose Chase pale ale with Gooseberries. I think it might be an old bottle/bad batch - vague tartness, dry but with a dull malt taste and a short finish. No head but quite pale and cloudy.

Another flat beer, I'm on an unfortunate roll. Thankfully Billericay Brewing Company's Billericay Zeppelin still tastes nice, an interesting light bitter with quite a nice smokiness to it.
