The 3rd annual WA Hop Mob Roadshow is kicking off at Brouwer's Cafe in Seattle today. Who else is excited to try some triple IPA's? It runs through February 13. For more specific details on locations, dates and breweries/beer they created a website with the appropriate wahopmob.com name.

I had a 4 oz pour of Skookum's at Chuck's and thought it was a very enjoyable beer. Looking forward to sampling a few more today at Brouwer's.

Kind of off topic but relevant to those who might be going to Brouwer's today, Brouwer's is also tapping Melvin Brewing's (from Jackson Hole) 2x4 Double IPA as part of 2x4 day.

i'll be doing 2x4 day at pine box.

not to be all "back in my day", but holy crap brouwers pricing is getting ridiculous. $9 for 12oz pours?

Yeah, man. It pains me to say it, but Brouwers is over. Twas once the un-debatable destination in the city, but now the pricing is just so f*cking stupid, that I go out of my way to avoid it.

I was going to do Brouwers (I am not a fan of the place and haven't been for many years but make exceptions every once and a while) but fuck those prices. I only really wanted to try the Melvin stuff anyway. I may do the Pine Box instead. Thanks for the heads up man.

Well, not to really create more indecisiveness, but Pine Box is actually charging $1 more for 2x4

Damn, didn't even notice that. I think I'll go to Brouwers but just stick to the Melvin stuff since they're essentially the same price or cheaper. Still can't believe the price of the other stuff.

I'm guessing Toronado will price the Melvin beers similarly.

LOL...got to Brouwers, sat at the last seat available at the bar. Was told two seconds later that I couldn't sit there because they needed the area for service. Walked out, got in the car and drove to the Pine Box.

Exactly, it was precisely the worst that could have happened. I was already not psyched to be there and needed only a flimsy excuse to get annoyed and leave.
Weird how I've always liked pretty much all of the Bottleworks staff and only a couple of people at Brouwers. Are you getting out for some Melvin stuff today?

Should've come to Toronado. No one would bug you. And probably no one there.

Yeah, meeting some friends at the Copper Hog. I've had 2x4 several times, and it's doesn't really push my buttons, but I'll have one. Looking forward to what else they're pouring, really hoping * makes an appearance.

2x4 was super solid. Shaolin tasted like whiskey.

Six people at Toronado. Plenty of room at the bar.

If I could do it over I would have gone there. I think I can take a bus there and be there in like 15 minutes with no worries about driving. I was sort of nonplussed about not seeing which beers they were pouring though.

I love having Toronado within a ~5 minute walk of my house.

Especially after two 10+% DIPAs. Heeeyo.

I found out tonight that Brouwers is now charging sales tax on beers to make up for the $15hr min wage and Obamacare BULLSHIT. Fuck that man, you will see me there a lot less.

Theory: Keep prices the same and keep me coming or raise prices and lose a customer. ??? Overall you are losing as a buisness to raise prices, I WILL GO ELSEWHERE!!!!

While I know what you mean, isn't sales tax like, the law? I'm sure trump or done other toolbag will normalize brouwers prices

Ya it is like, the law. But most bars have it built into the price so if it says $5 a pint on the menu it is $5 not $5.48 or whatever it is after tax. I will just avoid places with high priced beers and charge extra sales tax on top of it.
