Considering my last visit to Ritual, no, just no, that just sounds nasty.

I agree with this to a point - I'd have preferred a BA Big Deluxe or even better Fat Hog, but the fact that they're bottling their BA stuff now and not just doing it as draft specials is a good sign.

The BA extra red is actually pretty solid though

I would assume that its pretty easy to decipher that we didnt enjoy what we had the last time we were there, but if you havent been able to figure it out, we didnt like what we had the last time we were there.

I think we all assumed that, there was just the vibe of a particularly bad experience that may have an interesting story behind it.

I don't have a pithy remark but in general Ritual makes solid clean beer without any quality issues (and I've had it a lot) with a generally more classic range of styles than the stuff that sets the BA world on fire. Their Extra Red is a hoppy red that's well made, the BA version from what I recall is like a less aggressive version of BA Arrogant beers.

Bearing in mind I'm not just being a homer for a brewery I go to, they just took gold at GABF for their imperial stout and barleywine. I'm sure they will impress the BA crowd more when their limited releases get more exposure (Look at the BA ratings for Java Deluxe for example)

As a Long Beach ( Belmont Shore ) resident, I could not have said it better. I get all the east coast goodness from a very generous friend and I send him BW and other good local bottles like Noble Showers Series when they are available, he loves them like I love the beers from Trillium TH and OH. They're all very good beers, just different styles, we're spoiled.

    Cheers………...

Yeah, Costco in woodland hills also had them in the boxed bins, limit 1. Very odd, I thought costco was for bulk purchases!
