Azacca... Delicious hop that I think would pair extremely well with many other varieties.

Equinox, HBC-438. Some like Idaho 7/007.

There are many hops being developed. Once Brewers order enough, the acreage is expanded to meet demand.

Unfiltered mosaic, simcoe, Amarillo, wai-iti, and Waimea for that tropical, citrusy aroma and zesty, peppery, hop-juicy flavor. Unfiltered definitely seems like the trend right now.

Hoping for more Amarillo hops. Love that hop.

As a brewer, this is really important/annoying.

The cost of hops is already ridiculous. Now i have to keep adjusting recipes and buy the new trendy hop every few months.

The market dictates all though and its what i signed up for.

Serving the beer geek (e.g., BA) segment of the craft beer market does indeed have its challenges.

The 'good news' is that your job as a brewer is not boring; you are not just brewing a beer like Budweiser over and over and over and ....

    Cheers!

Lemondrop came and went out here. I probably had 5-6 beers using it last summer but haven't seen or heard about any in months. That said, I think it's great. Faint citrus with a little bit of a noble hop herbal note.

I really dug HBC-431 last year. I'd love to see that Hop get popular enough for Commercial growth.

Cellarmaker was using Southern Passion hops a year or so ago and it was amazing.

However I believe the availability led them to not being able to use it anymore. I think the hop is from Africa??

    Can someone confirm this?

That is the sister of HBC-438.

HBC-291 has been in trials for a while, will it gain traction?

South Africa is now a supplier of hops:

“…six other South African hop varieties that have been developed in the country: Southern Brewer, Southern Star, Southern Promise, Southern Dawn, Southern Passion and Southern Aroma.”

It appears they like to use the “Southern” moniker.

    Yes, from South Africa.

There are some from South Africa in other beers.

If hops have a name instead of a number I am already over them

Seriously though, been digging Mandarina Bavaria in some stuff, but not sure its fruity enough to become huge.

For a widely available option, The Oskar Blues IPA features Ella hops (as well as three others including Vic's Secret, Topaz, and Enigma). It certainly isn't a single hop experience but it gives some sense of the flavor.
