I just assumed that was because Saga is better than everything, and it wouldn't be a fair match.

Agree on the infused. Forgot I had that. Yes I did not like it either.

To me the pale wheat seemed nothing more than a really bad recipe. It tasted as though it was brewed well, but was still hard to swallow.

I know the bar manager at Carmody and the last time I talked to her she mentioned that they have a new brewer and the beers have improved greatly. The new guy had experience at Fitgers (I think) and Castle Danger.

Seriously? Then something has changed greatly. I was there once with friends. We actually left without finishing our beers. We randomly ran into someone else we know who had just gotten there from Steel Toe. We mentioned we were headed there next and he said "You did that in the right direction."

I did like LTD's space and the location, but the beers were dull and under carbonated. I'm hesitant to go back, but if more people say it's gotten better we might have to give it a try.

I went there this summer, and was pretty happy with it as well.

I'd put ftown in the below average category at best.

Was at tin whiskers this weekend. Had a flight of all theirs beers on tap. the IPA (which I have had many times before) has gotten better but still tasted pretty messy.. everything else was pretty dull and lifeless. I'd put them in the average category.

    Just my opinions.

Also how about a section of unknowns or "soon to checkout" ?

I waited quite a while to check out LTD even though I work close by due to the negative things mentioned by folks on here. When I did eventually go I was pleasantly surprised with the beer. They seem to make better hoppy beers than malty ones, but I have yet to have anything from them that made me think something went wrong in the brewing process. All in all, I've found it to be a good place to sit out rush hour after I get off work, and would suggest that you give them another try.

I had the exact opposite experience. I liked their malty beers and despised their IPAs. Until something happened last year and the IPAs got significantly better where now I will regularly drink them. I use to find them very astringent and soapy. I still do not like their sours.

I just heard a great story on Hayes that a buddy of mine experienced. Apparently my buddy wanted to swing out that way a few weeks bacl to try them out and get a growler or two and he inquired on if they fill any growlers or just their own (dumbass should have checked my list first)...anyhow not only would they not fill any growler they had ZERO empty glass growlers to sell of their own! So no growler sales at all! Talk about lacking business acumen.

I bug them about this all the time but it seems to land on deaf ears. Maybe too much Irish music drowns out business sense.

A few comments on FTown being too high so I revisited both the IPA and Brown Ale and wow...not sure what I was thinking with that original rating. I had them both near the end of the night the first time and thought they were decent enough but both are definitely flawed..they will be moving down. Glad people called me out on that one.

I agree in Portland, OR Hopworks Urban Brewery (HUB) we got the flight of 20 and there was still 24 more left to go to choose from.
I would put good Urban Growler, good Wabasha then Sidhe, lyn-lake in the below average range

Never been to urban growler so can't comment on them. I'd put both wabasha and sidhe in the below average category at best. I go to lynlake all the time and never have had a bad brew from them,
In fact they're one of my fav breweries in the metro, They'd be in the very good category IMO.

Different strokes. They'd be in "below average" at best for me.

Must just be different strokes. Have been there a handful of times and never been too impressed. The first few times I thought the beers were just bad. Last few they've been better, but nothing I rush back to get. Nice rooftop and the old theater is cool.

Made it to lake monster for the first time last night and was really impressed with their brews. Their IPA and DIPA were both solid and balanced hoppy beers, while their Munich Dunkel was absolutely fantastic (just the right amount of sweet). The milk stout was very solid, while I was a little underwhelmed with their pils (not as crisp as I had hoped it would be; a little too hoppy). Awesome location and great vibes in the tap room, I'd definitely put them in the "Good" category, and I'll be back there again soon.
