Let's hear the skinny on the standout brews at the fest, especially from the Friday night folks for us Saturday attendees. Last year's biggest discoveries for me were Carton and Proclamation. Looking forward to visiting both of them on Saturday, but I'd love to hear what's awesome or unexpected.

Alternate question: where are the longest lines?

Longest line for sure is getting in the joint.
    Second longest is Tree House.

I know this and I haven't even been there yet this weekend.

I'll rephrase, outside of Tree House, where else is there a crazy line? It's hard to handicap these things when there are so many awesome breweries.

Th is super long. Grimm is long. Funk Buddha is medium long. Surly is long. Overall if you're not waiting for tree house you're waiting <5 minutes

Bo and luke variant knocked my socks off. Also maple bacon coffee by fb blew me away.

Those that went tonight: is the line to get in outside or inside the convention center?

Outside the convention center. It will wrap most of the way around the building before each session tomorrow.

Treehouse line took about 18 minutes but was worth it. Line to get in much longer. Funky Budha about 10 minutes. Not may others over 5.

MBCP, huh? Any other notable surprises that weren't on the list ahead of time?

Tree House was the worst line followed by Funky Buddha, Wicked Weed and Grimm. Favorite beers were Cassie Cerise, Framboose Morte, Golden Angel, Parabola and Barrel Aged Bomb!

So sick of lines being part of these craft beer conversations. Did TH beers kick early? Any chance of getting TH without waiting in a huge line?

"Olly" from Free Will is an excellent oud bruin. Right Brain has "Thai Peanut," which I also loved. Rivertown has a very good geuze.

Krieky Bones was amazing as expected and caused me to hit that line a couple of times.
The biggest surprise for me was Breakside Brewery who I had not even heard of until last night.
The Tree House line was absolutely ridiculous and I didn't even bother with it.

Tree house line never let up but they had plenty of beer. They split the line up and probably switched out after 2 hours. I went through 3xs.

Under the radar : I thought proclamation derivative was amazing. Delusions of grandeur from Foundation was amazing. C.O.B. From Free Will was amazing . Darkling from Nightshift awesome. Tin Man Mint MicroChip was awesome

Less under the radar: Hardywood BA GBS didn't disappoint. The strawberry shortcake beer from Funky Buddha was on point. Other Half superillo and 2nd ann DIPA.

Ps- didn't wait for wicked weed or TH that far side was a nightmare

My biggest surprise was Two Roads Hexotic. Really solid and quite a surprise as expectations were not terribly high. There wasn't a line at Two Roads the entire session so if you're in the very long Tree House line, you can easily pop out to grab a cup on either side of the wrapped around line. I also really like Upland Way Down Yonder.

For as bad as that Tree House line was all night, I was very impressed with how much beer they brought. They had the first 3 beers on for at least 2 hours. Triple Shot was on pretty much the entire night. Really well done by them. The only hiccup with that line was the point where it started to wrap (as it neared Wicked Weed booth). As the night went on, the number of people that "didn't realize" the line wrapped, and tried to get in line at the halfway point kept growing. I'd say 50-50 between people who honestly didn't know and people who were trying to play dumb and cut in. It didn't really matter though as there was so much beer it was hard to miss out. I used the Tree House line to take a breath and drink lots of water and prevent getting wasted.

Great event and can't wait to do it again tonight!
