In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, Sculpin.

All of my favorites cost too much of in PA...

    Ballast Point Sculpin
    Green Flash IPA
    Fat Heads IPA
    Alpine Duet

Heady Topper and Pliny aren't an issue 'cos you can't get them here.

I haven't read through this entire thread but I think that Sierra Nevada has some good deals...Celebration Ale is a solid offering for less than $35 a case... I saw some mention of Lagunitas and I agree that it's a good value as well. Bells and Southern Tier are also reasonable here as well.

I think this thread should be rebranded to best values in craft beer:

    -Sierra Nevada (enough said)
-Founders (Quality above most others for <$10/6er, 4 packs usually under $11, and their 12 packs are ridiculously good in value. Dirty Bastard 12pk cans for $15.50 = $7.25/6pk, yikes!! Even greatness like BWB and KBS are cheap in comparison to overhyped stuff from Goose Island and Evil Twin)
-Dark Horse (They almost never price gouge that I can tell. 6pks are all under $12 for the most part, some under $9. 4 packs generally $7. Even BBPT5 is only like $20/4pk).
-Lagunitas (definitely near the top of reasonably priced breweries. All 6pks with next to exception are under $10, and they refuse to do 4pks which I respect. Their bombers are generally $4 or less as well, for quality that doesn't lack. They don't do gimmicky releases super often, but I respect them).

Yeah, I was thinking along the same lines!
Local breweries tend to offer some good deals and should always be investigated/discovered...

Lagunitas is the most affordable and quality beer on the market. 9$ for High Westified Imperial Coffee Stout. Who would say no?

But for me KBS all the way. The limited supply and price point are just out of control. And lets face it, its 2016, there are KBS quality beers everywhere nowadays at a much cheaper price.

Kbs is one pf those beers you have to try at least once though. I've never had it and would be more than willing to pay the $20-25 a four pack once. If it doesn't live up to the hype for me I won't buy it again, but I don't think that it's that high.

If you can't afford it, don't buy it. The pricing drama is hilarious.

Pliny costs $5.25 a bottle. At it's highly acclaimed and proven status, I'd say that's a steal in today's world of new unknown and unproven breweries selling their bombers at Whole Foods at $9-$11 per Bomber. Obviously, since Pliny sells out within minutes of it arriving in wherever it lands, it TOTALLY over-priced....

Brooklyn's 6 and 4 packs area great deal. I find that Brooklyn bombers are overpriced these days. I enjoy Brooklyn Black Ops but the lowest price I've seen it at this year is $22.99 plus 7% sales tax to much imo.

FiftyFifty Eclipse is great, and I love how they do all of the varietals, but it's a bit steep in price.

Sorry to hear that, there are so many great Imp. Stouts in the States.

    On topic!
I just came back from my local liquor holy land Yankee Spirits. Ballast Point used to be 17.99 a sixer, and I've seen most of them now between 10.99 and 12.99. It's still a bit pricey but at least it's more affordable now. Just a week ago I had spent the $18 on a Pineapple Sculpin, it was very good but definitely a one time purchase.

On most of these it's only over-priced if I drink more than one at a time.
Seriously - just go for the reasonable sessions and budget brands that are solid (all mentioned above), and go for the one and done quality (high priced) ones when you just want one.
    Just like there's $15 "whiskey" and $100 whiskey. :l

Feel all superior now? Your post reveals more about you than this thread does about others.

Even wealthy people do not like to waste money (except for the temporarily wealthy, that is...)
